Stacking Animals put a smile on your face!

SSS - Stacking Animals Jul16 (5)

Hello friends!

I guess you have been thinking I had dropped off the face of the planet! But … even though it has been awhile … I haven’t forgotten all my blog buddies. I am sorry it has been so long! Life has been busy! But … I am not going to bore you with the details except to say that mostly it has been happy busy! 😀

SSS - Stacking Animals Jul16 (3)

I wanted to share a few cards with you and decided to start with one using a stamp set that always puts a smile on my face! It is super fun and perfect for those tricky male cards.

Click on any picture to enlarge!

I had fun doing an embossed, sponged ink background and some copic colouring on the animals. The sentiment is adorable. I have another card to share using this set … hopefully that won’t be too long! 😉

Seth turns 3!

Cheeky Monkey (io-sss) Jul16 SAaug16 (9)

Our cheeky little monkey had is birthday yesterday and I thought I would share the card I made for him. But … before I show you the finished project … I wanted to show you the first attempt …

Cheeky Monkey (io-sss) Jul16 SAaug16 (1)

The left samples have a watercolouring background wash that ‘pilled’ the paper. So … I started again (right hand samples!!) Sometimes you just have to cut your losses and begin again! ☺😉

I actually sat down about a month ago to make Seth’s card and realised that I was very lacking in stamp sets for kids … especially boys. So … I indulged a little with these two sets …

Left: Clearly Besotted – Cheeky Monkey ………. Right: Simon Says Stamp – Stacking Animals

Both have matching die sets and can be purchased from Simon Says Stamp.

I had to patiently wait for them to arrive … but … this is the finished result …..

The inside of the card had a little surprise …

We had a lovely time yesterday sharing Seth’s cake and enjoying his excitement. Hope you have had a lovely weekend too! Hugs xxx

Happy Heart

Happy Heart (YNS) Apr16 (3)Hello friends!

So much whirling around in my brain! I have all these ideas but no time to do anything about them! In the meantime … I will quickly share this ………

Happy Heart (YNS) Apr16 (1)

Sandy gave this one to his girlfriend for her birthday last week. Cute, affectionate … but not too soppy and over the top! 😎

Isn’t this image adorable!? It is a new one for me … and I think I will be using it often!

Peyton’s 1st Birthday

Henry Celebrating Mouse WOJ Jun16 peb (7)

Hello friends!

Peyton July16

Peyton Emma @ soccer last Saturay

I have a special card to share today! This is the one I made for our adorable, sweet little grand daughter, Peyton, who turned 1 in June … while we were away on holidays! (Yes … I was so sad to miss her first birthday … but we had an extra celebration with her when we returned.) Isn’t she just the cutest little munchkin???!!!  😀

Henry Celebrating Mouse WOJ Jun16 peb (2)

This was a stamp I  bought a few years ago from a favourite stamp shop, Whiff of Joy. I hadn’t visited in quite a while so decided to check it out again. Imagine my surprise to find it is now closed. How sad. I have quite a stash of their stamps … and loved their designers! Sigh! But … I do understand that sometimes these hard decisions have to be made. I hope Katerina is doing well!

The sentiment stamp is from another FAV stamp shop … Stamping Bella. The image is coloured with Copics and fussy cut. I have sponged the background of the shaker window and added some pretty sequins and pearls. There is some Wink of Stella glitter on the cake (clear) and on the candle (gold) … but it is so hard to catch it in a photo. It is really pretty, though. Hope you are having a lovely weekend. Hugs xx

Bree Loves Buttercream!

Bree Loves Buttercream (5)

Hello again!

Well … we are home again … but there will be a lot to catch up on so I still have a couple of scheduled posts to share.

Bree Loves Buttercream (2)

This stamp set was a ‘no brianer’ when I was choosing some Stamping Bella stamps to buy! With “Bree” in the name … how could I pass it by!? This was one of my first “Tiny Townie” stamps. I bought this before I had any Copics to colour with. This one is done with SU! Markers. Yes! I have had this one in my files for a while! 🙂

My little princess turns 5!

Blossom Loves Balloons SB Feb16 (8)

Hello again bloggies!

It was such a delight to be able to share another birthday this past week with my precious no. 1 grand-daughter, Bree. She turned 5 … and all of a sudden seems so grown up! Lynda!!! Can you believe this??? It always makes me smile that on Sandy’s birthday (5 years ago) we were at Hogs Breath restaurant celebrating when Stace discovered it was all happening! 🙂 So … it was funny that all Bree wanted for dinner Thursday night for her birthday was “curly fries” from Hogs Breath! Go figure! 😀

Blossom Loves Balloons SB Feb16 (12)

This darling little card has so much love poured into it. I tried out a new background technique … did some gorgeous colouring of a sweet Tiny Townies image. I loved playing around with something really pretty for a sweet little 5 year old!

Blossom Loves Balloons SB Feb16 (11)

I think you can see the gorgeous shimmer on the card base (in the picture above) … it is the SU! white shimmer card which works so well for watercolouring. I thought I would show you how I made the background … I used quite a bit of water to wash the background inks together … but not too much because I wanted a good depth of colour.

And … here are a few more photos showing some more details ….

Note: The card without the “5” was the one I gave to my sis for her birthday. Yes … I always try to make 2 of each card. So … my twin got this sweetie too! Not too kiddie for a g’ma??? I hope not! 😉

Bree Melissa Apr16

And … here is the little princess looking all gorgeous and sweet! She has the most sunshiny, bubbly personality. I hardly ever see her without a smile on her face. She brings us so much joy. I wish you could have one just the same! 😀 Oh … and also … she LOVES to create! Perhaps it has skipped a generation … because none of my girls are particularly interested!!! ???

images AnzacWe celebrated ANZAC day this morning with a 4:30am start at the ceremony at Albion Park RSL. Sandy had to be there to represent the school as school captain at the dawn service. He was not impressed to be up that early … but it is always worth it … the service is always moving and it is good for us to take the time to remember those who lost their lives fighting for our country at Gallipoli in 1915. I can’t believe it is a year since we went to the CENTENARY dawn service in Wollongong last year!! REALLY??? Well … I have been a little ‘chatty’ this time! But … need to get going now. Hugs xxx

Star Birthday for Shane

Hooray Stars (4)Hi bloggies!

I am usually a tad bored when I am creating MALE birthday cards. But … I have to admit that this one was actually pretty fun. I can’t take credit for the design … but I do love the pop of colour on the black background!

Even though I have used silver embossing for all the stamped images … it really was a pretty quick card to make! Can’t complain about that!

Stampin’ Up! – “Be the Star” & Star Framelits; “Work of Art”

Colours: Basic Black, Bermuda Bay, Silver embossing
