Baby Boy Card for Seth

S&J Baby Seth Aug'13 (3)Hi bloggies!

Back again! I have just finished doing Gav’s invoicing for last month so I thought I would take a minute to pop by. Today’s cards are baby ones … I created matching cards in pink & blue just before Seth was born. And … now the pink one is in my stash for a future little angel. 🙂

TI Baby Girl (1)

So … Here is Seth’s card …

S&J Baby Seth Aug'13 (1)

S&J Baby Seth Aug'13 (4)Isn’t this image just the sweetest!!! It is a Tiddly Inks DIGI image. I just love the cute factor of their images and now have several in cling stamps! You all know how busy it has been here lately … and this card (AGAIN) is a CASE! My brain is just not allowing any creative juices at the moment. This design was inspired by one of my favourite bloggers … Denise Marzec. You can find her original and delightful card –> HERE! Denise has such a clean and gorgeous style!

So … here is the pink one ….

TI Baby Girl (2)

TI Baby Girl (5)This is another of the Tiddly Inks DIGI images that I bought quite a while ago. What a little sweetie! The heart frame is a FREEBIE image I found via Google … but I’m not sure where I actually found it … all I know is that I saved it as a “Google Tags” image. You can see I have added some sparkle to both cards … a MUST for a pretty baby card. I used my Versamark pen to colour in some areas and then heat embossed using the Iridescent Ice embossing powder. (Still my preferred way to add sparkle.)

Well … I really need to get my head around some organising for the engagement party on the 14th September … so I had better stop procrastinating! See you all again soon. (I hope!) Hugs xxx

Hot Stuff!

Meljen's Designs Hot Stuff - DD'13 (3)Hi bloggies!

Wow! I managed more than 1 post in a week! I don’t really have the time to be here … but just wanted to stop by and share another of my cards that are piling up for blogging! I am sure you all know what I mean! I am going to try and get Skye’s 21st invitations done today … so that means I have to be quick!!!

Meljen's Designs Hot Stuff - DD'13 (1)Remember I showed you a sheet of digi images that I had coloured a while back? Well … this is another of the cards using those images. Meljen's Designs Hot Stuff - DD'13 (4)I have used my Prismacolour pencils with a blending stump & gamsol (odourless mineral spirits) to colour these images. I must try and use more of my DSP … I am a pretty simple card maker … but when I do get the DSP out … I am always happy! It just adds an extra dimension. Well … off to have brekky & then I’ll get started on that big job I have to do. I just wanted to share one more card that I have been meaning to show you for a while. I love getting happy mail. This came from Lynda when she returned a stamp set she had borrowed from me! Isn’t it just the sweetest. I don’t know why I didn’t get some of this gorgeous DSP … but with the new SU! catty just around the corner … I think I will wait and see what is new! (Sad not being a demo anymore and getting a sneak peek … but I know Leonie has already ordered me a new catty … and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!!!)

Lynda S May13Have a great day!

PS: I changed my blog theme … the butterflies & bikini’s didn’t seem appropriate now that the weather has turned cooler!!! I had this one stored for a good day! Today is that good day!

Bree’s 2nd Birthday Card

Meljen's Sweet Little Donkey - BA'13 (3)Hi bloggies!

Another busy week … but I did manage to find some time to stamp … AND to BLOG!!! I promised to show you Bree’s birthday card … her birthday was 21st April. I had so much fun doing this one … it just HAD to be PRETTY!

Meljen's Sweet Little Donkey - BA'13 (1)Meljen's Sweet Little Donkey - BA'13 (4)The cute donkey image is from Meljen’s Designs … and the sentiment is from Hannalie Desert Diva who has heaps of free sentiment downloads! Isn’t this just soooo adorable!? I coloured the donkey image using my prismacolour pencils, blending stumps & gamsol. The sketch was an oldie from My Favourite Things (#78). All the details are on my card recipe below. You can see I used my Versamark pen over the colouring … and added some Iridescent Ice embossing powder to add a really special sparkle. Truly … this looks fabulous IRL. Thanks for taking the time to stop by. I know I have been a bit absent lately … but I do always read my comments. Many thanks to those who have been kind enough to encourage me lately! 🙂 You are who keep me blogging! xxxxx 🙂

Sandy’s 15th Birthday Card

Saturated Canary Skateboard - SBL'13 (4)Hi bloggies!

I promised to share the birthday cards with you … this is Sandy’s …

Saturated Canary Skateboard - SBL'13 (1)He was quite impressed … well … as impressed as a teenage boy can be. And has actually kept this one! He knows how to make his mum happy!!! 😉 Note the purple shoes!! 😀 Sandy bought a pair of “Vans” with some birthday money he received … a few days before his birthday. So … the card was coloured to match his ‘trendy’ shoes!!! Prismacolour Pencils BlendingA couple of weeks ago … I knew I had Sandy, Bree & a friend’s birthdays coming up … so I decided to go “digi” & printed out a sheet of images. It was very relaxing to sit one night … while the boys were watching the footy … and colour these in with my prismacolour pencils. Saturated Canary Skateboard - SBL'13 (3)I don’t want to spoil the impact of Bree’s card … but this is just the image … so I know you would still like to see the finished item. I will share Bree’s card soon! All the details for images, colours etc are on the card recipe at the end of each post!

I had a really successful day shopping today … and wiped out 2X mother’s day & a couple of birthdays as well as a bargain dress for Skye … and some books for Bree. It was a lovely day out with my mum! But … tomorrow is back to the bookwork with end of month invoicing. I will be back as soon as I can! Hope you are having a great week, so far!!! 🙂

Reminder: Scroll down to yesterday’s post if you missed the birthday photos!

Skye turns 20!

Skye 20Hi bloggies!

Another milestone for our family … with our 4th kid moving from their teens into their 20s. Isn’t it great that I still have 6 years before the next one does. Sandy keeps me feeling young! 😀 I think I am very clever … because all 5 birthdays (kid b’days) fall in the school holidays. (Occasionally … with Easter being at different times of the month … Sandy has had the odd b’day at school.) So it is nice to be able to enjoy their b’days without the hassle of school or uni. I guess … as they all move into full time employment … this will change … but with Sheree & Skye becoming teachers … they will still be able to enjoy their b’days at home!

Aren’t the colours pretty!? I had some fun using my Prismacolour Pencils again … and added a little sponging to all the DSP & white card. I think it makes the cut / punched images ‘POP’ a little more. I have also popped the framed image of Wryn & the sentiment image up on foam tape … to give a little depth to the card.

I just love these Tiddly Ink “Wryn” DIGI images and have purchased a few … but much to my dismay … Debbie has just done a gorgeous “Rapunzel” card using another sweet image from a different stamp site called “Make it Crafty”. I am so keen now to get my hands on some of their stamps! BAD BAD Debbie! 😀  🙄 This card did take a little time to make. I was determined to learn how to merge DIGI images and went straight to Debbie’s blog to find out how. Debbie has shared a FAB tutorial. Unfortunately, she has an older version of Paint … so I had to go surfing the web to find another tutorial. Not very successfully … I must admit … so A CHALLENGE FOR MY BLOGGIES … please find me a tutorial for merging DIGI images (stamp images) using Windows 2010 with PAINT. (2010)

Well … more ‘wedding shopping’ to do! It is absolutely amazing what you can find on the internet for a fraction of the cost at the shops! I would really like to support local retailers … BUT … some items are just too hard to resist! And … being in a regional town … rather than a big city … also means limited places to shop … and limited product range! I am amazed how much we have been able to do on line! Off to order my papers & cards for the invitations. We got a little distracted yesterday looking for shoes, bags & jewellery!  And … our TV ‘blew up’ on Tuesday … and we just HAD TO HAVE A NEW ONE … for the State of Origin rugby league FINAL last night! Yayayayaya! Queensland won! Will be back again soon!

Hi Bloggies!

No … I am not on the DT! There doesn’t seem to be a badge for participating or for each challenge! I just wanted to highlight where it is! xx

I discovered a couple of new challenges this week. I knew that I had to make a male b’day card for my nephew … so with a lack of mojo … I turned to some ‘male’ challenges to help out! Mind you … both these challenges were pretty “general” … so I ended up having to think for myself … something I have been a little lazy with lately! 😉 The “Cards for Men” challenge blog is running challenge #10 called “Kicking Back”. Quite easy really … I mean “kicking back” could mean anything leisurely to a guy!!! The second challenge is from “Allsorts Challenge Blog” — challenge #154 – Card for a Man or Boy. So … I am entering this card in both challenges! 😀

So … I pulled out my Prismacolor Pencils for this card. I hadn’t played with them in a little while … so it was nice to use them again! I chose the DSP first … then went with the DSP colours to colour in my skateboarder! I am guessing that skateboarding falls under the category of ‘Kicking Back’! Instead of highlighting and shading with a different colour … I just added more of the same colour to build it up. (except for the vanilla on the T Shirt). I thought this was a “really cool” image … Saturated Canary “Skateboard” DIGI image  … hence the “Real Cool” sentiment!

Well … have to fly … catch up to do!! I am away on a church camp for the weekend … so I won’t see you again until Monday (or so!). Hope you have a lovely weekend too! Hugs xxx

A cute surfer!

Hi again bloggies!

I feel like I am chasing my tail this week. After a lovely relaxed week last week … this one has been a doozy! Thanks to all who have left sweet messages for Sandy’s recovery from his ‘nose job’!!! I am absolutely amazed at how easily he came through the general anaesthetic … and how little pain he has had! His nose has a lovely splint … that has to remain there for about a week … but apart from that … there is no discomfort at all! God is so good! A little teary moment … when the nurse came to stick this long ‘tube’ thingy up his nose … reminded me that he hasn’t quite grown up yet! 🙂 But … all in all … it has been quite easy! I think the HARD part … will be trying to keep him from bumping it! It will be quite fragile for at least 2 weeks … and then completely healed in about 6 weeks!

Before I show you my card today … I wanted to share the wonderful creation that arrived in my mail box a couple of days ago! It came from Kasey with a sweet Magnolia stamp! Kasey was re-naming her blog … and asked for some ideas! One of my suggestions was used as a ‘by-line’ for her blog name! So … she sent me a lovely surprise! Sorry … I just realised that I hadn’t got around to editing these photos! I hope you can see the lovely shimmer paint Kasey has used???

This was a card I made earlier in the year for my nephew’s birthday. It has gone all the way to Vanuatu … and his b’day was this week!

I used my Prisma pencils to colour “Skater Ian” in … but as you can see … this was one of my first colouring attempts with the pencils … and the shading leaves a little to be desired! I hope he liked it!? Sandy has a couple of mates over tonight … for a b’day sleepover. I can’t believe my baby is turning 14 tomorrow! Where have those years gone? I feel a little sad! But … he is a great kid … so I am not complaining! I had better go and organised beds … oh … and wrap presents!!

I probably won’t be here tomorrow or Saturday … Sandy’s b’day tomorrow (& Breesitting) … then Bree’s 1st b’day on Saturday … means it will be a busy couple of days! I am gradually learning … I can have a day or 2 off blogging without feeling guilty! See you soon! Have a great weekend! Hugs xxx

Perfect Image!

Hi bloggies!!!

Sssshhhh … don’t tell Sandy I am here displaying his birthday card!!! His birthday is not until next week … but I used 2 challenges to create this card … and the challenges close before his birthday … so I am posting it today! I am fairly confident he won’t be viewing this post (why on earth would he visit my blog???) … so hopefully this will be a surprise for him!

The two challenges are a wonderful sketch from Freshly Made Sketches … and a fabulous boy colour combo from colourQ! I do hope you pop by and view the fantastic DT samples … and the amazing entries for both of these challenges! Now … most of you know that I am not a fan of circle challenges … but now that I have my 2½” circle punch … I am one happy little camper! I know it is not big … but it does the job … don’t you think???

I have a fab chart to match my Prismacolor Pencils to SU! colours … so it was easy to pick my pencils to colour with! I added some depth to the image by choosing slightly darker colours as well … for the highlights.

This is the PERFECT IMAGE for Sandy. He is taking a year off soccer this year … you may remember the horrible year he had last year … his coach bullied him because he didn’t play the 2 matches that they had on Sundays … and because he went away for a week for our family holiday and didn’t play one Saturday (the coach admitted this to Gavin) … SO … he has decided to try basketball this year! I was tickled to find this pic for his card from the Saturated Canary DIGI shop and I combined it with the “Real Cool” image from Meljen’s Designs!! PERFECT!!! 😀 Only 1 tiny problem with starting basketball 😦 … his FIRST game is next Thursday … BUT … on Wednesday he has to have an operation 😯 (general anaesthetic day stay) to correct the break in his nose that he sustained a couple of weeks ago!!! Did I tell you about that? 🙄 I imagine he will not be feeling up to playing in that first match … although he will be insisting he is fine to do so!? My only concern will be that he be fine for his birthday on the Friday!!???

Well … off to make Bree’s 1st B’day card! Her birthday is the day after Sandy’s … what fun!!! (Hope Sandy is feeling okay to celebrate with Stace, Jono & Bree!!!) See you soon! Hugs xxx
