STICKY POST …

SCROLL DOWN FOR MORE RECENT POST!

Hi Bloggies!

71e9351b32c01c76f6148ad5e272086f10th Blogging year!!!

It suddenly occurred to me that I have reached my 10th year of blogging here at “EnchantINK” … wowsers!!! Really???? 😯 That means that I have some friends out in BLOGLAND who have been my friends for almost 10 years! I am soooo thankful for the special friends I have made through blogging about a common interest … card making and papercraft! Thank you so much for your support! I know I have been a bit quiet lately … but I am still passionate about card making … I am just finding it a little difficult at the moment to spend the time blogging. But … I would love to be more active here. I hope to make it happen more.

Some interesting stats for the last 10 years …..

  • 150 followers (currently)
  • 1,614 posts
  • top post – My twin sister’s 50th birthday (899 views)
  • top commenters – LYNDA!!!, Vicki, Monika, Reva, Jenny H

Anyway, enough reminiscing!

Some news … I am moving house!!!

It is just a temporary move while the site works for the development around our home are being done.  It has been almost 14 years since this development was first discussed and it has truly been such a long wait for it to happen. We have been living in limbo land for all that time!

But … the beginning of the end is finally here! We will be in rental accommodation for about 18 months and then we can return to our home and start building our new house on our much reduced land (100 acres down to 2 1/2 acres). Once the new house is finished (about 12 months) we will finally be able to move in and our old home will be demolished. It still feels like it will never be a reality. There have been so many delays and complications (all out of our hands … we are just one of 12 landowners involved). But … there is some light at the end of the tunnel now.

Clearance Sale!!!

Anyway … that was a long involved way of saying … I NEED TO CULL MY CRAFT STASH ... in order to fit my craft stuff in my rental apartment. I CANNOT take it all with me!!!! So … I am hoping my blog buddies will be able to help me pass the word around or purchase some goodies for themselves. I have craft packs for sale … at ridiculously cheap prices. You can find all the details here … (click banner)

Thanks so much for your help! Hugs xxx

My little princess turns 5!

Blossom Loves Balloons SB Feb16 (8)

Hello again bloggies!

It was such a delight to be able to share another birthday this past week with my precious no. 1 grand-daughter, Bree. She turned 5 … and all of a sudden seems so grown up! Lynda!!! Can you believe this??? It always makes me smile that on Sandy’s birthday (5 years ago) we were at Hogs Breath restaurant celebrating when Stace discovered it was all happening! 🙂 So … it was funny that all Bree wanted for dinner Thursday night for her birthday was “curly fries” from Hogs Breath! Go figure! 😀

Blossom Loves Balloons SB Feb16 (12)

This darling little card has so much love poured into it. I tried out a new background technique … did some gorgeous colouring of a sweet Tiny Townies image. I loved playing around with something really pretty for a sweet little 5 year old!

Blossom Loves Balloons SB Feb16 (11)

I think you can see the gorgeous shimmer on the card base (in the picture above) … it is the SU! white shimmer card which works so well for watercolouring. I thought I would show you how I made the background … I used quite a bit of water to wash the background inks together … but not too much because I wanted a good depth of colour.

And … here are a few more photos showing some more details ….

Note: The card without the “5” was the one I gave to my sis for her birthday. Yes … I always try to make 2 of each card. So … my twin got this sweetie too! Not too kiddie for a g’ma??? I hope not! 😉

Bree Melissa Apr16

And … here is the little princess looking all gorgeous and sweet! She has the most sunshiny, bubbly personality. I hardly ever see her without a smile on her face. She brings us so much joy. I wish you could have one just the same! 😀 Oh … and also … she LOVES to create! Perhaps it has skipped a generation … because none of my girls are particularly interested!!! ???

images AnzacWe celebrated ANZAC day this morning with a 4:30am start at the ceremony at Albion Park RSL. Sandy had to be there to represent the school as school captain at the dawn service. He was not impressed to be up that early … but it is always worth it … the service is always moving and it is good for us to take the time to remember those who lost their lives fighting for our country at Gallipoli in 1915. I can’t believe it is a year since we went to the CENTENARY dawn service in Wollongong last year!! REALLY??? Well … I have been a little ‘chatty’ this time! But … need to get going now. Hugs xxx

A milestone!

Number of Years SU! Balloon Feb16 (4)

Well bloggies … I have a milestone to share. One that is quite bittersweet!

On Wednesday my baby turned 18!

That means that ‘officially’ … my ‘mothering’ days are over. I am now the mum of 5 adult children. (That’s a bit of an oxy-moron … “adult – children”!!) So … I am actually feeling a little nostalgic as I also spent time at my grand daughter’s 5th birthday the day after Sandy’s 18th and realised that the innocent excitement of childhood birthdays are now a thing of the past for me! (Apart from sharing in my grandchildrens’ birthdays of course!)

Sandy – Jan ’16 – UOW

I am sad! Don’t get me wrong … I am quite content not to be back where my daughters are with new babies! 😀 but … I am also feeling a little sad at the thought that I have moved into a new stage of life. I know … I am being silly … but it is quite the milestone … don’t you think??? But … instead of wallowing in self-pity … I will share a card! This is Sandy’s 18th birthday card ………

Number of Years SU! Balloon Feb16 (1)

I made this at Leonie’s at our last weekend retreat. It was fun to play with some of her goodies (including this stunning DSP) … and I do so love this balloon die! (Might have to get me one!) I did buy the large number dies after playing with them for this card.

Sandy still has to get through his last year of school … and do his final exams. He will be at home (I feel) for many years to come … hey … his brother is 10 years older and is still here! It is too expensive to do uni out on your own now! So … perhaps I am not quite redundant yet!??? 😉

I was going to add the details here … but realised that there is no stamping on this card!

I will be back next time to show you Bree’s 5th birthday card! Hugs xxx

Watercolour Trending

Helping Me Grow SU! Feb16 (8)

Hi bloggies!

Have you noticed lately around the card making community that there is a current trend for watercolouring … and not just the usual colour with markers or ink and blend with aqua painter / blender pen. Card makers are trying all sorts of washes, hand lettering and effects. I have watched a few videos and have been practicing a little here and there! I can tell you … these girls are clever! It is NOT as easy as it looks. 🙂

This was a card I saw on Kristina Werner’s blog … yes … I subscribe … I love her STUFF and she is responsible for me spending far too much money at the Simon Says Stamp online shop!

I did my watercolouring on the SU! white shimmer card … which is so fantastic for watercolouring. No pilling of the paper at all. I also added some Wink of Stella shimmer pen to the flowers. The back ground has a watercolour wash over it … and the flowers (from a SU! set from the current Occasions Catalogue that I played with at Leonie’s) are heat embossed with white embossing powder and more ink added. I used a paint brush and ink from the stamp pad. I actually was kinda happy with the result – especially for my first attempt of this type of watercolouring . And … I have since bought the stamp set that Kristina used for her sample. You should check out her video tutorial … it is brilliant!

A couple of Sandy moments!

Hello my friends!

Just sharing a little news for those who might be interested. I know some of you have been with me for several years and will remember when our Sandy was just a young soccer fanatic!

sandy-soccer-aug08

Sandy – aged 10

This year he started playing NSW South Coast Premier League Football in the U-18s division 1. (Not an Australian “A-League” team … but there are possibilities for this to be a feeder to a Sydney team. — But that is still just a dream!) Well anyway, this year he received the golden boot for his football club — highest goal scorer of 1st grade, youth grade (U-21s) and U-18s!!! But even more exciting … he was actually the highest goal scorer for not just his club … but … the whole of the south coast league in all 3 divisions!

Sandy (17) … Port Kembla Football Club Golden Boot Award 2015

And … then … this week he was selected as School Captain for 2016! We are so thrilled. His acceptance speech was just beautiful! One of his best friends, Eden, is vice captain.

Sorry for the shout out … but I am just a little proud! Hugs xxx

Seth Turns 2

2015-07-21 SRA Aug15 (1)

Hi everyone!

How is your week going? I have to apologise to all my blog friends for my absence from visiting your blogs! I am going to try and find some time to do some blog hopping asap! Thanks for persevering with me! How adorable is this …

2015-07-21 SRA Aug15 (2)

This is the card I made for our Seth for his 2nd birthday. He has grown up so much and is just soooo funny. He makes me laugh all the time. I love him to bits! He is such a cheeky monkey … and likes to tease us just like his dad does.

2015-07-21 SRA Aug15 (4)This is such a cute stamp … it is a Whimsy Stamp called Bart Goes Golfing. I only recently discovered the Whimsy Stamp shop. I could have gone mad! $$$ are still a little tight so I was very self disciplined! This is also a semi-cased card … but I am sorry I can’t acknowledge the original design because I forgot to pin it!! Please let me know if it is yours! Well … 2 posts tonight! Don’t faint! Check out my previous post about my 2nd new grand daughter!  See you when I see you! Hugs xxx

Mackenzie Kate!

Hi bloggies!

Really? Again? Where did that month go? I am a shocker when it comes to blogging lately. I swear life gets busier the older I get it. But … I do have one excuse that should help to explain! I have another gorgeous grand daughter! Yes … 2 grand daughters in 8 weeks! Mackenzie Kate arrived on 18th August … weighing in at 3.05kg … length 49.5cm. Stacey & Jono are thrilled with another daughter … little sister to Bree (4 1/2) and Seth (2). Here are a few photos …

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I had the kids for 3 nights … and I enjoyed it so much … but phew … it was exhausting! Bree & Seth love their little sister and seem VERY excited … hyperactive even!!! (grin) It is going to be a very busy but very happy household, I think! I wonder how they will manage and then remind myself that I had 3 kids 4 and under!! We survived. 😀

I will be back soon to show you Seth’s birthday card! Hugs xxx

A couple of Chilly Chums!

Chilly Chums Jan15 (3)Chilly Chums JL MD 2015 (4)Hello again!

I know … don’t fall over in a dead faint! I am back again … and it has only been 3 days! 😉

I have some fun cards stored to share … so it is just a matter of finding the time to blog them! While I had a couple of months of virtually no card making … I HAVE been doing a little! My biggest time constraint was because Sandy started playing serious soccer (football) this year. He is playing in the Illawarra Premier League for Port Kembla Football Club U18s. He is their main striker and although his Sunday church commitments interfere a little with his games he has managed to score 23 goals in 5 matches! He is on top of the leaderboard for goal scoring! I am a proud mum … especially because we have never really tested his potential … but now he is playing with the ‘big boys’ … he is actually holding his own and contributing to the team in a really positive way. I am even more proud of the way he encourages his team mates and the sportsmanship he displays. My chauffeuring duties to enable him to keep up with soccer & youth group was quite a chunk of time out of my week … hence no card making or blogging. (Due to temperamental computer and internet difficulties too!) But … Sandy now has his licence  … And I am just finding some new excitement and eagerness to get into my craft room! My mojo is slowing flowing again!

These are a couple of cards made using a super adorable set from Paper Smooches called “Chilly Chums”. The little cuties have matching dies … so easy! Click pic to view!

Again … I have been very slack about bookmarking the inspiration for these designs! Happy to add if you can share your original link with me! 😀 I am very sorry that I have done NO BLOG HOPPING for a few months. I plan to try and pop by each of my favourite blogs asap to say hi! I won’t be able to catch up on all I have missed … but will enjoy checking out some fab inspiration! Thanks so much to my faithful blog friends who have popped by here from time to time! I really appreciate your support!

Woo hoo … hope you are having a great weekend! Hugs xxx
