Sandy & Sami are engaged!!! We are thrilled … but I am also sad at the anticipation of our last little bird leaving the nest! It was a very romantic place to get engaged … Hamilton Island is just beautiful. By the time this post pops up we will be on our way home.

Shane & Stacey’s Special Day!

Hi my friends!

Saturday was a wonderful day of celebrating for us as a family! Our son Shane was married to his gorgeous bride, Stacey. (Yes … We now have TWO Staceys in our immediate family!) We are so thrilled to see Shane & Stacey married and starting their own family and the wedding was an amazingly joyful event with lots of beautiful memories. I don’t have too many photos to share … But will add some more when we have them edited and when the formal ones arrive.

I wanted to share a little “crafty” project I did for the amazing DONUT WALL that was part of the celebrations! We had an afternoon tea at the church before moving onto the formal reception at the Woolshed at Yallah. This simple idea was a HUGE HIT with the guests!

Stacey’s dad painted the boards in a metallic rose gold … I did the rest of the decorating with ivy, flowers, candles … And a few handmade items … Please click on photos – you will see them in much better detail!

The donuts were hung to spell L-O-VE and we had some yummy donut holes (cinnamon sugar donut balls) in glass jars too! Shane & Stace were thrilled with the result.

I hand painted all the canvases (30x30cm) … the sentiments were found via Google! The smaller wooden signs were done simply with white chalk markers.

uptown-couple-brett-brenda-get-married-sb-apr16-8Oh … and the card I made for them I did quite some time ago and tucked it away for someone special! You can see it HERE! (I did recolour the suit to be navy — to match Shane’s suit — this worked out perfectly even though it was over the top of the gray!) And I gave them the “pink” version … because pink was one of their theme colours.

Hope your weekend was as happy and as special as ours! Hugs xxx

Handmade Wedding Gift Bag

Josh & Elyse Gift Bag Oct14 (7)Hi friends!

Our trip to Brisbane last weekend was so we could attend my nephew’s wedding. It was a lovely wedding … very elegant and happy! It was great to catch up with my younger sister and her family.  We also spent a couple of nights with Gav’s sister and her family. With a 15 hour trip each way with 4 of our 5 kids (+ 2 hubbies) … it sure was a family filled weekend. What a blessing!

Josh & Elyse Gift Bag Oct14 (4)Josh & Elyse Gift Bag Oct14 (6)Our NSW family all put together to purchase an IKEA voucher for Josh & Elyse. Sheree had suggested this idea after she and Murray had received the voucher from Muz’s family at their wedding. They were thrilled … because they were able to set up their unit so nicely after they got married. I collected wedding cards from all those who contributed and made this pretty bag to hold all the cards and the gift voucher. The inspiration for this bag came from a card I had pinned on Pinterest and created by Annette Stewart. I used some gold and silver cord as the strings … on the original card these are hand drawn.

J&E Oct14 (1)I also created a tag with the names of all those who contributed on the back side. I did have fun creating this special event gift bag! You will remember I showed you the wedding card that I made for Josh and Elyse … a little while ago. It is always nice to play with something pretty. I am a little over male cards at the moment. My first “Card in a Box”!

Card in a Box Tania14 (5)Card in a Box Mitch21Jun14 (6)Hi bloggies!

It has been such a busy few days … with our school fair and extra child minding etc etc etc. I won’t bore you with the details except to say I had a FABBO stamping/friendship day with Leonie, Jenny & Tracey on Thursday … and actually managed to get 4 Christmas cards (just 1 design) done! We were a little distracted by Leonie’s newest adventure –> Lily Anne Designs.

Card in a BoxI will show you the Christmas card closer to Christmas … but in the meantime … here are my first attempts at a Card in a Box. Remember: You can click on the first card in the gallery to open a slideshow to view the photos better!

I did one for my nephew’s 21st birthday … back in June! He was impressed. Another is for a friend’s birthday … but ssshhh … don’t tell her! I haven’t given it to her yet! The papers are from the FAB SU! paper stack (pad) called “Fresh Prints” and you can see that gorgeous “Monarch Butterfly” Die that I used for the two cards in a couple of my recent posts …  THIS POST & THIS POST! For those who may not have seen this type of card before … it actually folds flat to go in an envelope to be posted! They are super cool! 😀

Well … I have another ridiculously busy week! Just added 4 items to my diary this morning (for this week) … that just came up unexpectedly! But … one is a visit to Sydney tomorrow night to see my lovely blog friend from Western Australia … Lee-Anne! I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to see her after becoming good friends via text, phone & facebook. This is only our 2nd meeting … and I can’t wait! 🙂 So … lots to get organised … better get going! I hope I will find some time to get back here soon! Have a great day! Hugs xxx
