Stamp Club Project

su-floral-boutique-dsp-sept16-1-copyHi bloggies!

I have recently joined up to a stamp club run by Leonie, my SU! buddy. I just thought it would be nice to catch up regularly for some social and stamping time … but so far I have only made it to 2 of 4 workshops! It is also a good opportunity to see some of the new SU! goodies in action. This is one of the projects I managed to get done. A gorgeous little gift card set that Leonie found online!

The gorgeous papers on these cards are from the “Floral Boutique” DSP pack.

The die cut on the white band is the “Detailed Floral Thinlits” die.

Hope you are enjoying my recent posts! Hugs xx

Colour Renovation – Stampin’ Up!

Hello to all my stamping friends & customers!

Well … we have been quite blown away with some very recent news from Stampin’ Up! And … I wanted to share the excitement with you all …

Stampin’ Up! is renovating their colour families … and after two years of market research & discussion with their demonstrators … here is what they have come up with!!!

  • 4 new “Colour Collections” – with 10 Core Colours in each – These 40 Core Colours will include our new “Neutrals” Collection. This will mean our colour choices will be less overwhelming than our previous 48 colours + neutrals!
  • 5 BRAND NEW colours within the Colour Collections ( + Kraft is renamed as “Crumb Cake”)
  • 10 “in-colours” (past & present) will be included in the core colours – YES! That means that they are here to stay! 😀
  • 5 new “in-colours” EVERY year … which will run for a two year cycle. (This means that after the 2nd release of in-colours – ie: 2nd year of Colour Renovation – there will be 10 in-colours each year for you to choose from!)
  • Wider variety of embellishments, accents & elements to coordinate with the new Colour Collections and In Colours

Click here for PDF  chart to download -> New_Colors_AU_NZ_0410

You will notice that the “Earth Elements” have been replaced with “Neutrals” BUT don’t worry some of our favourite EE colours have been relocated into different collections. You can see that colour tones have played a part in building the new Colour Collections. Who would have thought that “Rose Red” would be a “Subtle”!!! But … it really does look like it belongs there! Doesn’t it!

I guess for some … even though there is lots to love about this Colour Renovation … there will definitely be some colours that we will all miss. I know some of my favourites are disappearing, too!! But … marketing & research … and personal experience has shown me how much we all look forward to the new in-colours each year … so it makes sense that a Colour Renovation would also be a welcome change for us all! Fresh colour collections and new colours to choose from … means NEW AND FRESH INSPIRATION AND IDEAS … New colour combinations to discover … New favourites to claim!

So … These are the colours that will be “phased out”. If there are any favourites here … that you just can’t bear to part with … then make sure that you use the next 5 months to stock up on cardstock, re-inkers & ribbons! We have the benefit of these next few months to do so! 😀

Click here for PDF chart to download -> Fond_Farewell_Colors_AU_NZ_0410

And … then … on September 1 … when our MUCH ANTICIPATED 2010/2011 Idea Book & Catalogue is released … we can all get excited about the new and fresh approach to the SU! colour range! And … don’t panic about the cost!!! 😉 SU! will be offering great packages and kits to help us all in the transition stage. These kits will be very reasonably priced … so the impact is not too great on our demonstrators and customers!

I have to admit to being a little hesitant about these changes when I first heard about them. But after listening to Shelli’s  (SU! CEO & Co-founder) discussion and understanding the thought processes that SU! have been through … I am really very excited about these FRESH ideas and colours. So … I hope you will all embrace these changes with me … and I hope you will make sure to pre-order your IB&C when the time comes and see all the wonderful colour combinations, project ideas and products that reflect this exciting COLOUR RENOVATION!

Regionals Make & Take – Hello Again

Hello Again! 😀

I am a busy bee today … gotta take my mum Chrissy shopping for all her granddaughters … and help her choose pressies for them. I have to do some baking … for tonight’s catty launch … and tomorrow’s Yr6 primary graduation (as a Yr5 mum, I am on this helper list for this event at school) … have to pack up all my goodies & supplies for the launch … have to still find a fun game to play … have to add a link to see the BRAND NEW SUMMER MINI CATTY here on my blog … and somewhere in the middle of all that I have to send off a Chrissy card to our sponsor child in India … and the guardians who care for him.

So … I am just going to share a quick card today … a project that we did at the recent SU! regionals … using the BRAND NEW sweetest little stamp set called “Hello Again” You can always pop over to my SU! website to see the new catty … if you can’t wait for me to add a link here on my blog! 😉

Sooooooo simple … but soooooo cute!!! I loved this little set instantly and I just know it is going to make the sweetest cards … with very little effort. Only $21.95!!! Unbelievable!!! 😯 Our make & takes at regional are always kept very simple … but they are also always sooooo eye catching and effective! I love the simplicity … and it means you can create a card in double quick time! I am realising that often “less is more”!!!

So … gotta run … busy busy busy …

A Beautiful Thing

A Beautiful ThingHello again!

You might remember that recently I was playing around using various stamp sets … and designing cards to show how versatile a stamp set can be??? I found some more pics in my blog folder and thought I would share this series of cards with you today! This is such a cute but inexpensive little set … that can create some lovely effects. Being a 2-step stamp set … always means you can create WOW! cards with very little effort! I haven’t had it out for a while … but I really enjoyed playing with it again!

A Beautiful Thing 1

A Beautiful Thing 1zThis first card is starting off really simple … not even 2-step stamping … but I have just used the outline stamp and stamped randomly using different colours! Makes a fabulous background or a feature background like I have done here … And HOW BRAVE … I used my Pacific Point (09/10 in colour) on this card … just as a fine border … and with the stamping! And … I actually really like this colour combo. Perhaps the Pacific Point is growing on me a little??? 😉 Now … that would really be a change of heart … wouldn’t it!!!

A Beautiful Thing 2

Inspiration - SCS - justbecause

A Beautiful Thing 2zMy second card … still very simple … but you can see the 2-step stamping on the flower … pink solid image … and black outline stamped on top. The phrase is also from this gorgeous set! And … I have used another stamp from this set to create the pretty pink  images on the white card as a background. Don’t you love the pink and black colour combo!!!

A Beautiful Thing 3

Inspiration - SCS - robbier52 - inkedx2.blogspot.com

A Beautiful Thing 3zAnd … the third … is a little more work! Just a tad!!! 😉 But … it is really much quicker and easier than it first appears!!!  I have combined this set with the new “Great Friend” set from the Spring Mini … I just really wanted a butterfly and some leaves to finish this one off. The colour combo came from the lovely “Walk in the Park” DSP (also from the Spring Mini). So … there is a little cutting and punching on this card … 1. Cutting – Butterfly, Leaves, Large Baja Flowers 2. Punching – Large Cameo flowers (5 petal flower punch) & Small Baja & Cameo flowers (trio flower punch). Once all your pieces are cut & punched … it is just a matter of glueing and layering with dimensionals. It is quite pretty! And … the photo really doesn’t do justice to the colours … this is a lovely combo! You can see I have also used the leaf stamp as a back ground on the centre white card. These images were “stamped off” onto scrap paper before stamping onto the card … to give a subtle image background. Before punching with the trio flower punch, the small flowers were stamped using one of the small flower stamps from this set. Sometimes it is nice to create something that has a bit more detail and work. It is really satisfying seeing it come together! I hope I have given you some inspiration to have a go yourself!?

More details for each card are found at the end of this post. Ooops! 😳 I just noticed that I forgot to include the punches that I used for the last card under “tools” on the card recipe!!! I used the 5 petal flower punch and the trio flower punch to punch around some of the flowers used on this card. The rest of the images were cut out using my wonderful paper snips! (Wouldn’t be without these!!!) 😀  This set is only $29.95 … which is fantastic value for such a versatile set. Contact me if you would like to order one! 😀 Have a lovely day!
