Stamp Club Project

su-floral-boutique-dsp-sept16-1-copyHi bloggies!

I have recently joined up to a stamp club run by Leonie, my SU! buddy. I just thought it would be nice to catch up regularly for some social and stamping time … but so far I have only made it to 2 of 4 workshops! It is also a good opportunity to see some of the new SU! goodies in action. This is one of the projects I managed to get done. A gorgeous little gift card set that Leonie found online!

su-floral-boutique-dsp-sept16-12

The gorgeous papers on these cards are from the “Floral Boutique” DSP pack.

The die cut on the white band is the “Detailed Floral Thinlits” die.

Hope you are enjoying my recent posts! Hugs xx

Cute Hostess Gift!

Convention 2009 Projects

Hi there!

Just wanted to quickly share one more FAB project from Convention … and I think (as I have shown you all 4 projects & endless swaps) this will probably be the last!!! I certainly did get my money’s worth out of this event, didn’t I?!!! 😀 If you would like to see any again … just do a search on my blog for “Trendy Trees” or “Circle Circus” to see all the Convention Projects.

Convention 09 Gift TagsHere is the cute litte gift pack with 4 tiny gift cards that we created at Convention. The Convention sample was created using the “Trendy Trees” stamp set … one of our Convention Freebies!!! 😀

This is a fantastic idea for a hostess gift and I demo-d this at my last workshop. My teenage hostess was thrilled with her gift!

Convention Gift Tags x 4

I used the colours for my hostess gift … that were from the Sweet Always DSP – Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Pink Pirouette & Regal Rose. A piece of this paper is used to line the cellophane bag. The stamped images were from a combination of  “Pocket Silhouettes” (a fantastic set for backgrounds and layering images) & “You & Moi”.  The “handle” is punched with the Word Window Punch (twice – to give a little extra depth to the hole) and finished with some regal rose riboon. Sooooooooo quick & easy.

Here is my finished sample … I love the pinks & pumpkin together. SU! really does have a knack of combining colours don’t they!

Super Quick Make & Take

Hello!

Wow! It is so quiet! I can’t believe it! My house is never quiet – especially on the weekend! But … all the big kids are out with youth group friends … Sandy is playing on his playstation … Gav ??? not sure where he is or what he is doing??? So … I am stealing a quick minute here!

Nicky Adamson Convention Swap

Nicky Adamson Convention Swap

This is a cute little SWAP that I received from the Canberra Convention in May designed by Nicky Adamson. I LOVE the little lady bug that Nicky has highlighted by layering on dimensionals and adding some Crystal effects … giving it a real 3D look! Such a simple design …. but soooooo adorable!

Card Recipe:  Stamp Sets: A Flower for all Seasons, So Swirly Wheel; Card: Real Red, Only Orange, Whisper White; Ink: Stazon, Real Red, Only Orange, Summer Sun, Certainly Celery; Other: Crystal Effects, Dimensionals

So … I decided that this was a GREAT card to CASE for a simple M&T. ( I always start my workshops with a really quick M&T … just to let my guests get their hands on the stamps asap!!!) So … because we were “colouring in” with markers … I did 3 different designs so there was not too long a wait to use the markers!

A Flower For All Seasons M&TI used the DSP for each card as my starting point for the colours used for each card.

A Flower for all Seasons BasketCard1 Recipe: Stamp Set: A Flower for All Seasons; Card/Paper: Gable Green, Whisper White, Baja Breeze DSP; Stamp Pad: Stazon Black, Gable Green (edge); Markers: Blush Blossom, Only Orange, Gable Green, Not Quite Navy; Extras: Cutter Kit (distressing), Sponge Daubers & Ink (edges), Dimensionals, Crystal Effects.

A Flower for all Seasons Watering CanCard 2 Recipe: Stamp Set: A Flower for All Seasons; Card/Paper: Basic Grey, Whisper White, Tea Party DSP; Stamp Pad: Stazon Black, Pretty in Pink (edge); Markers: Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery; Extras: Cutter Kit (distressing), Sponge Daubers & Ink (edges), Dimensionals, Crystal Effects.

A Flower for all Seasons PotCard 3 Recipe: Stamp Set: A Flower for all Seasons; Card/Paper: Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Bella Rose DSP; Stamp Pads: Stazon Black, Old Olive (edge); Markers: Rose Red, Regal Rose, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, White Gel Pen; Extras: Cutter Kit (distressing), Sponge Daubers & Ink (edges), Dimensionals, Crystal Effects.

How easy are these! And … so cute! Why don’t you try one for yourself. They take next to no time to create!

signature-picUntil next time … have a lovely day!

Kelly’s Workshop

I had so many ideas floating around in my head for Kelly’s workshop last Saturday … and eventually did settle on 3 great projects that I got from Convention. Two were swap ideas … and one was a demo that Shannon did as a “workshop WOW”.

Kelly's W'shop May09 008This is the Shannon’s project … and is just the cutest little card & pocket. Isn’t it adorable! And … I just happened to have bought this precious little stamp set “You & Moi” just before I went off to Convention. I was tickled that Shannon used it for such a cute project and I was able to put it to good use when I got home! 😀 Inside the pocket are three of these little “kiss” cards! The pocket is just a simple tri-fold with a bottom centre flap that folds up to keep the love notes inside. The corners on both flaps are rounded and the front is covered with DSP. So … are you wondering how to do the sparkly lips??? Just cover your lips with coloured sticky lip gloss! Make a pout … and press your lips to the card. Sprinkle with a mixture of heat & stick powder & dazzling diamonds … and tap off excess powder. Set with a heat gun! The lip gloss acts just like Versamark … and grabs the heat & stick powder … which … in turn melts & grabs the dazzling diamonds … and when it is cool – voila! The lips are embossed! This made a gorgeous hostess gift for my teenage hostess! Kelly just loved it!

Kelly's W'shop May09 001We did two make & takes … I always like to do a really quick & easy card to start my workshops! This was a resized version of a gorgeous swap that I received from Debbie Robinson. (I can’t find a blog for Debbie … if anyone has any contact details please let me know!) You can see Debbie’s sample in the cellophane bag on the right. I was instantly struck with the colours for this card. Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, Almost Amethyst & Whisper White. Because I resized mine to a square (9cm x 9cm) card … I just used a slightly smaller phrase stamp & lifted the medallion a little higher on the card. The medallion is stamped with Whisper White Craft ink & embossed with heat & stick powder mixed with dazzling diamonds. The photo just doesn’t do it justice … this is such a pretty effect on the black card. A real “wow” at the workshop! Stamp Sets: Boho Backgrounds + any phrase stamp. Thanks so much for the inspiration, Debbie!

Kelly's W'shop May09 003My third project was a Mother’s Day card … just in time for Mother’s Day. I had seen these little flower pot cards on a few blogs … but did receive the pretty orange one from Robyn Lawton as a swap at Convention. Robyn used Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss & Choc Chip for her card. Mine is done with So Saffron, Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue & Certainly Celery. The flowers are created using the FAB “Petal Pizzazz” stamp set and you can see that the scallop flowers fit the scallop circle punch perfectly! This was an easy but impressive card to do as a make & take and Kelly’s guests were thrilled to take home two pretty cards! Stamp sets: Petal Pizzazz & Watercolour Vine Jumbo Wheel Stamp.

It is interesting … how you can be totally happy with a card … until you see it with a little something extra! This is where SU! excels! We have all the coordinating products that just add the little something else to make your card just a little more special! Here are both make & takes … with a little extra pizzazz added!!!

Kelly's W'shop May09 012

Added on right: Sponging, Paper Piercing, Trio flowers, Rhinestone Brads

Kelly's W'shop May09 004

Added on left: Sticky Strip with Supernova glitter, Yellow Rhinestone Brad, Flower Brad, Crystal Effects to extra flower

Isn’t it amazing … those small added extras … really do make a difference! But … simple is always elegant … and never boring!!! It just depends on your mood, don’t you think??? 😀

signature-picOff to lunch with my sister-in-law for her birthday! Should be a nice quiet relax for just a few hours!

Cupcake Fun!

Hi again!

How lovely … ANZAC day … so no junior soccer this morning! I know … we should have got up for the dawn service … I did wake up … but the wind was blowing … and I just couldn’t bring myself to get out of my warm bed! That is soooo slack when you think about all that our diggers had to put up with to serve their country … and I really don’t have any excuse! But … it is nice not to have to race out to Sandy’s game this morning (especially after a late night – project class, last night!) I am looking forward to a LOVELY day. I plan to put an order into SU! from a workshop I had on Tues (just haven’t had a moment all week to do so!) … then I am going to sit and make my Convention swaps … maybe go watch Gav & Shane play soccer this afternoon (or maybe not!!!) … and then dinner out tonight at a lovely little restaurant in Kiama with some VERY special friends! HHHmmm … sounds like a blissful day! Don’t you think???

How great is this new stamp – SIMPLE BIRTHDAY THANKS! It is HUGE! (Just like a background stamp – but much more fun!)

Simple Birthday Thanks 1Card details: Card & Papers: So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Tea Party DSP. Ink: Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Certainly Celery Marker. Extras: Eyelet Border Punch, Square Scallop Punch, Crystal Effects. Stamp Sets: Simple Birthday Thanks, Say it with Scallops.

And here is another sample … this time when I stamped the image onto the card … I made sure I stamped it with the side of the patty paper (cupcake base) running along a fold on my card … this makes it into a card you can open. I stamped the image onto Choc Chip card … then used a stamped template to cut the cupcake patty paper from DSP (slightly wider than the original image) & crimped it (crimping takes up the extra width – just trim a little if it is too wide) Then … cut the icing piece using a stamped template. I found creating a template was easier than trying to only stamp part of the image on the extra card / paper. But … you could also use markers to stamp ONLY the parts of the stamp that you want.

su-apr09-013Card details: Card & Papers: Chocolate Chip (base of card), Chocolate Chip “Patterns” DSP, Pink Pirouette, certainly Celery. Inks: Regal Rose Stamp Pad, Certainly Celery marker (stalk of cherry), Real Red marker (cherry). Extras: Crystal Effects (cherry), Pink Supernova glitter (added with 2-way glue pen), Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8″ circle punch, Trio Flower Punch, Silver Brad, Crimper, Silver Cachous (icing balls). Stamp Sets: Simple Birthday Thanks, Crazy for Cupcakes (phrase).

And here is the hostess gift that I made for my workshop this week … I think this would make a great “cake bag” for a party … or a “loot box” for party goodies!!!

Simple Birthday Thanks treat box

Project Details: Card: Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze “Patterns” DSP. Ink: Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip Marker. Extras: Crystal Effects, Eyelet Border Punch, Chocolate Chip Ribbon, Silver Brads. Stamp Set: Simple Birthday Thanks.

Here is the link for the inspiration for this project – Carolina’s Creative Pad

All the details for measurements for the box base are available at this site! Thanks Carolina for a FABULOUS project … and just perfect for a hostess gift! You can see this is a really easy project. Nothing too fussy about the decorating … so it doesn’t take long to make. The one thing I changed from Carolina’s design was the handle. I cut a piece of Choc Chip card 29.8 x 4cm and used my eyelet border punch to scallop both sides. This made such a pretty handle for the box. If you wanted … you could add a tag with a phrase on the front?

signature-picSo … plenty to keep you busy here … a great project for the weekend! Hope you can try it for yourself! Am off now to put that order in … and then do my swaps! 😀 Big smiles … happy day!!!

Fresh Cuts … just loving it!!!

I really wonder why it took me a little while to realise the potential of this stamp set??? DUH! It is so easy to make a “WOW” card with this set … without any effort … but the final result is always amazing! Don’t forget I can take orders AT ANY TIME! So … if you ever see anything on my site that takes your fancy … feel free to contact me to order it for yourself!

Fresh Cuts For You

Here is one of the Make & Takes from yesterday’s workshop! (Sorry … I think the photo is a little blurry … or maybe it is my eyes???) This colour combo is so appealing … don’t you think?

____Card Recipe:

  • Cardstock:
    • Sage Shadow – 9 x 9 cm
    • Chocolate Chip – 8.3 x 8.3 cm + scrap to punch flower
    • Whisper White – 8 x 8 cm + scrap to stamp small flower
  • Inks:
    • Sage Shadow
    • Chocolate Chip
  • Extras:
    • 5 petal flower punch
    • paper piercer & mat
    • gold brad
    • sponge dauber
  • Details: Ink your Fresh Cuts background stamp with Sage Shadow & stamp onto Whisper White card. Sponge some dark choc chip colour around the edge … staying close to edge. Then sponge off most of the ink onto scrap paper … and (without re-inking the sponge dauber) sponge around again with much softer colour … giving a thicker but paler sponging edge. Stamp some random “leaf vines” around the edge in choc chip … and add one of the phrases to bottom right corner. Punch your choc chip flower … stamp your small flower (Sage Shadow on Whisper White) and cut around it with paper snips. Use a brad punch or paper piercer to make hole in centre of flowers and attach together with a brad. Stick flower to your card using dimensionals.

signature-picYou just HAVE to try this one. It is soooo easy … but sooooo gorgeous. My guests yesterday were VERY satisfied with their cards. It’s always nice to have a demo that is a HIT!!! I hope to be back tomorrow with some of the Mother’s Day Swaps … until then … have a lovely day!

Tri-fold Fun!

Hi everyone! Hope your day has been a good one! I have been at the zone swimming carnival with Sandy (10yr old son) in Nowra. (1 hours drive away) ALLLLLLL DAY!!! Yep! He happened to qualify for EVERY event … so we had to leave at 7am to be there for the first event … and arrived home at 3.45pm after the last event finished! It is really funny … leading up to the carnival …  I had constantly commented that 3rd place is GREAT!!! (1st & 2nd place go to state – a 2 hr drive to Blacktown) so … 3rd is good!!! He actually thought I was serious! He decided not to train this week  … so that he would come third!!! Isn’t he gorgeous! So … I had to say “just do your best”. (Hoping secretly that he would place third!) The last 3 yrs he has qualified for state and I have diligently taken him there for 2 races! And … I would be happy to do that again! Every year I “psych” him up … and remind him that he doesn’t do swim training … he doesn’t have a swim coach … one of these years the squad swimmers are going to improve past him … and he needs to be prepared for that! But … each year he proves me wrong! Perhaps … this year might be different??? And … yes! He did really well … a couple of thirds … a third in the relay … and a couple of other places … but NO seconds or firsts!!! So … no STATE! Yippee!!! (Sssshhhh … don’t tell him I said that!!!)

Anyway, I wasn’t popping by just for another “kid brag” … I just got a little sidetracked!

Amy's Trifold Card

Amy's Trifold Card

I found this super cute card on Amy’s blog. And … told Amy that it was so gorgeous that I needed to CASE (copy & selectively edit) it for a workshop demo. She was more than happy for me to do so! Isn’t this just so sweet!

________________________________

Attempt no. 1 - Just really thought this was far too fussy! Scrap this one!

Attempt no. 1 - Just really thought this was far too fussy! Scrap this one!

Anyway, I decided that I wouldn’t just steal Amy’s design … but would try doing one for myself … And …

Attempt no. 2 - Yuck! Good in theory ... but just didn't cut it in practice! Scrap this one!

Attempt no. 2 - Yuck! Good in theory ... but just didn't cut it in practice! Scrap this one!

It wasn’t such a great day for Andrea’s “mojo”. It was just not happening that day!

______________________________

Attempt no. 3 - I actually loved this one ... but punching through 3 layers wouldn't work ... so had to take time to match the punched sections ... THIS WOULD BE TOOOOOOO FIDDLY FOR A DEMO!!! Scrap this one!

Attempt no. 3 - I actually loved this one ... but punching through 3 layers wouldn't work ... so had to take time to match the punched holes in the 3 layers, separately ... THIS WOULD BE TOOOOOOO FIDDLY FOR A DEMO!!! Scrap this one!

But … I didn’t give up … and actually quite like the next attempt!

__________________________________

I decided that none of these were going to work for a demo! And … had to try one JUST LIKE AMY’S! The moral … when you see something perfect … don’t try to improve it!!! 😀

Attempt no. 4 - Why ... O ... Why didn't I just stick with this one?

Attempt no. 4 - Why ... O ... Why didn't I just stick with this one?

So … here is my workshop demo sample! I could’ve saved myself a lot of heartache … if I had just stuck with Amy’s design! 😀 I can hear Amy laughing from NZ even now!

Sweet Scallop Cone

Hello!

5. Fill a little cellophane bag with some small easter eggs - tie with a pretty bow & slip into the cone!

5. Fill a little cellophane bag with some small easter eggs - tie with a pretty bow & slip into the cone!

I am doing a project class this Friday and I am in the process of planning a few little Easter Packaging projects. I found this gorgeous little gift packaging cone on Angie Kennedy Juda’s “Stampin’ Academy” . She has a FAB video tutorial on this project … if you would like to have a go for yourself.  How pretty is this Bali Breeze Designer Series Paper! I just love the colours! Don’t forget these will only be available until the end of March … so email me with an order if you would like to get some before they disappear! And … Send me a pic of your sample or just even let me know what you think … my blog comments have dried up recently! I am beginning to think I am talking to myself again!

Here is a quick picture tutorial … for those who don’t have a lot of download access!

I demo-d this project at a workshop last Saturday (we used the Summer Mini papers – “Afternoon Tea”) …  and my workshop guests really loved doing something a little different! It was a “WOW” (workshop wonder) make & take! The little “Easter Wishes” phrase is from the “Occasional Greetings” stamp set.

signature-picSo … for all my class girls … this is one of the treats we are making this Friday! Can’t wait to see you all!  Hope you all have a nice week!
