Happiness is stamping with friends!

Whimsy – Abby & Jade

Hi bloggies!

MMMmmmm … I was pretty tickled with this card. One of my first using my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers for watercolouring!

The watercolour wash on the background worked a treat … and I found the colouring for the images flowed pretty well too! I have heat embossed the background stars using WOW silver pearl embossing powder and layered it over the black inked stars. It is pretty eye-catching in real life! (IRL)

This was a thank you card for a friend who helped me with a recent assignment for a course I am doing. She definitely has a way with words. And … I made a second one to put into my stash “you’re in my thoughts!”

Spring Flowers

Hi bloggies!

I love how vibrant the colours are on this card. I have done some watercolouring over a clear embossed image. I made sure the card was quite wet to allow the paint to flow into the sections of each image.

Eiffel Tower Sympathy

mft-eiffel-tower-die-nov16-6Hi bloggies!

I am going to add a few cards quickly … so please forgive me if I don’t chat on too much. My card files are growing … so I need to share some with you! 🙂

The coloured background is created by sponging ink onto the card and then spraying with water. I was pretty happy with the result.

Christmas time

I have just about finished my Christmas cards for this year. It did help that I had done a heap of COPIC colouring while we were on holidays at Dolphin Point in October.

I was actually going to add this embossed tree to one of my coloured images but realised it was too fussy and that it could be a stand alone card. In the end I was happy with the decision. The dry embossing is done on vellum card and has been coloured on the back side using gold Wink of Stella and on the front side using clear Wink of Stella. It is pretty hard to see … but it has a lovely shimmer.

And … as promised … here are some photos from Sandy’s yr 12 formal.

Sending Sunshine

Hi bloggies!

I am still feeling my way with my “Zig Clean Real Brush Markers” (watercolour pens). Even though all the YouTube videos make them look so easy … I am convinced it does take a little time to understand how they work best. I am sure that it won’t be long to get the hang of them … and already I am impressed with the different ‘looks’ that you can achieve. One thing that is for sure … the colours are super vibrant … and easy to blend.

I have bought some better quality watercolour paper since making these tags. The colours have blended reasonably well but some of the tutorials have mentioned that better card gives a better blend … so I am keen to try that asap!

The flourish background images have been heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The sentiment die is a super gorgeous one from Papertrey Ink who have a few of these “Big” sentiment dies. I love it … and MUST get some more! The die cut is white glitter paper with a ‘shadow’ created by cutting a dark grey die piece and slightly offsetting it against the white. This shadow definitely made the sentiment die cut ‘pop’ off the background. Can you see the sparkle on the flouishes? I added a little ‘wink of stella’ clear glitter over the top of all the images! Took a little while … but did add something a little special! Sorry the photo doesn’t really show how pretty it is!

This was a set of tag gift cards that I made for Sandy to attach to farewell/thank you gifts for our school office angels when he left school on his graduation day.

Sandy’s Year 12 formal is on tomorrow night … so I will add some photos as soon as I get a chance. I am sure it will be an emotional night … the end of an era — 26 years of schooling. I am so proud of the lovely young man he has become and I am sure it will be a great night of reminiscing and excited anticipation of the future! Be back soon … I hope. Hugs xxx

Brett and Brenda get married – shaker card!

Hi bloggies!

So much to share … so little time! This is one that I have put on instagram a while ago … but haven’t yet shared here!

I don’t wish to be a broken record … but have I mentioned how much I love my Stamping Bella stamps?

For some reason I found the lighting on this one tricky when I was taking the photos. So … apologies for the bad editing – the card base is WHITE! But … trust me … this card is super pretty!

Yes! A Shaker card! I haven’t done one in forever. But … saw this idea of using more than one window and just had to try it. I am pretty happy with the result! Don’t you just love those cute little heart shaped shaker windows!?

Snowflake Love Pendant Die

Hi again!

I have gradually been getting some Christmas cards done. I spent some time on a recent week’s holiday doing some COPIC colouring … and have several designs ready to mount onto cardstock. I am just plodding on … one at a time … but it is better than nothing!

Blogging is the same … no time for chit-chat … but I figure posting a card is better than nothing!

The colours on this one are super pretty … I sponged some ink onto the white glimmer paper before setting them into the card base. I have also used some Wink of Stella on the copic snowflakes.
