SSS – Emma Double

SSS Emma Background May'17 (3) - Copy

Hello my friends!

The story of my life … busy … busy … busy! But … it is happy busy … so I am not complaining!

SSS Emma Background May17 (13)

This card happens to be a stunner! And … I say that with all sincerity … the photos just don’t do it justice! The gorgeous Emma Background image has been embossed with gold embossing powder (left card) and with gold glitter embossing powder (right card). Both are amazing and I love both … but there is something about the sparkle and shine of the glitter embossing that just is mesmerising! (Particularly IRL!)

SSS Emma Background May'17 (2)

The images are coloured with COPIC markers … and yes … it did take some time to do these cards!!! But  … so worth the effort!

I am going to find it hard to part with these two … will have to find someone special to give them to! 😉

Hope you are all having a great day! I am sorry I have done absolutely NO blog hopping of late. I am missing all my blog friends … but one of these days I might stop long enough and also have enough internet download Gigs to allow myself some indulgent delights! Until then … happy stamping!

Star Birthday for Shane

Hooray Stars (4)Hi bloggies!

I am usually a tad bored when I am creating MALE birthday cards. But … I have to admit that this one was actually pretty fun. I can’t take credit for the design … but I do love the pop of colour on the black background!

Even though I have used silver embossing for all the stamped images … it really was a pretty quick card to make! Can’t complain about that!

Another Christmas Treat!

Hi bloggies!

Here I am again with a STUNNING Christmas card to share with you all! I really can’t take credit for this beauty … it is another of Tami’s gorgeous designs!

Isn’t this so sparkly and pretty! Such a WOW! card! And … quite easy to make! Embossing is not nearly as scary as some think! I decided to make a second card … this time in blue!

I have added the details for this embossing technique on my card recipe. HINT: Make sure your Versamark stamp pad is nice and sticky with plenty of ink.  Don’t forget you can click the recipe to enlarge … then print it out if you like! 😀

Again … I am sorry for the photo quality! Before my computer crashed I had Windows Live Photo Gallery … but now only the basic Windows Photo Gallery. I like the WLPG better because you can fix the “shadows”. So … I am in the process of downloading the better software. But … you all know how good I am with computers (NOT) … so fingers crossed it will work ok!

Hope you are all have a great weekend! Bye for now … Hugs xx

Creatalicious Challenge #15

Hi girls!

Can you tell I have been having fun stamping, lately! I have finally had some time to participate in a few challenges. And … for those who find them a litle daunting … I actually think they are the best thing to get the creative juices flowing! Just to have a starting point is often the biggest problem with card making … and a challenge will give you that starting point! What you do with it is totally up to you! 😀 I have been watching the Bizzy Becs Creatalicious Challenge blog avidly … with great intentions to take part in their monthly challenge … BUT … sadly I just haven’t done too many at all! So … I trotted over there today to see what was going on … and found a lovely challenge:  all white you can use a little colour eg flowers, sponging and colouring of images but the majority of your project should be all white.” Ooooh goodie … that sounds like fun!!! 😀 😉 But … (sigh) 🙄 … I sat looking at my white card with a complete “blank”!!! This was a lot harder than it sounded. And … when I was finished and I compared my creation with those done by the DT (design team) … I sighed again! Anyway … I thought I would share it with you … to see what you think!

Now … remember this is not a photography competition. 😉 😀 Seriously, “all white” cards are hard to photograph. I tried this one in several situations (light wise) … and this is the best I could come up with! All the images are white embossed … which actually looks a little “creamy” on the stark white background. I have added a tiny bit of colour here and there. The gorgeous die cuts are courtesy of Leonie N who let me run a few of her non SU! dies through my Big Shot … when I first got it! I hadn’t got around to using any until now … but I just felt like there was something missing until I added those accents! Well … gotta fly … off to lunch with my mum & Skye! Hope you all have a lovely sunshiny day! xxaxx

Helping Hudson Wk3 – Technique

Hi again!

I do hope you are all working on your submission for my blog challenge! Please … pretty please!!! 😉 I was beginning to worry that I wouldn’t have any gorgeous creations to judge …  but the wonderful Aly has sent me her link! Thankyou Aly … I love your card … and I can’t wait to see what my other blog friends might have to offer! Don’t forget the deadline of Sept 1! This is so much fun! 😀

My card today is another entry for the Helping Hudson blog … and this time it is a technique challenge … we had to include embossing and sponging. Now … I spent AGES trying to get a good photo to show the glossy embossing on the butterflies … and on the leaves. I took night shots with flash / without flash … and muted light shots … and outside shots … and daytime with flash … and every angle possible for each of these scenarios … but it was almost impossible to pick up the glossy finish. So … you are just going to have to take my word for it … there is clear embossing on this card!!!!! 😀 😉 giggle!

Isn’t this colour combo just gorgeous!!! Yes … the new catty is here … and I have so enjoyed browsing through and examining all the colour combinations that SU! have put together on their stunning projects. This is one of them! I love that with each new catty comes HEAPS of ideas and inspiration … a new way of viewing colour combinations … and great accessories and accent ideas! This catalogue is worth having JUST FOR THE IDEAS!!! I guess that is why SU! call it an “Idea Book & Catalogue!”. I really enjoy pulling inspiration from this FAB resource! Don’t forget to order your new IB&C … my boxes should arrive any day! Get your wish lists ready! 😉 Off for coffee with Ness’ team … we have our monthly “goal setting” get together at a lovely little coffee house at Shellharbour Village. It will be nice to see all the girls … especially since I had to miss our team training night on Wednesday night. Then I have to be back by 12 noon to pick up Skye from her exams.

We are getting very frustrated with our internet … I won’t bore you with the details … but it appears we are going to have to change servers … to be included in a different coverage area. The end result should be worth it … but it does mean changing email addresses … and that is going to be a HUGE pain in the butt! 😦 😯  At the moment … we are not able to use our internet after about 6pm … because it has slowed down to 0.01 speed … and it should be around 0.5 – 0.8! (Not sure what that means … but Gav has been doing speed tests with the tech guy … and ours is dinosaur!) It takes about 20 mins to download a page! The wind storm definitely had an effect somewhere! So … you can imagine our pain and frustration!!! Hopefully … it will be fixed soon … but until it is … I know you will understand that I can’t do any chatting on forums … or posting … or blurfing at night. And … there is only so much you can fit in during the day! I hope you all have a happy day! Stampin’ Hugs xxx

A 40th Birthday!

Hello Everyone!

I had a little time yesterday afternoon … and was absolutely itching to do a challenge card … so checked out a couple of my favourite blog challenges … (click on pics to visit challenge blogs to see other fab entries!)

So … embossing … and a sketch … should be easy enough to combine!!! I can tell you … this is for a VERY SPECIAL friend’s 40th birthday … so a lot of love went into it! I hope she enjoys getting this in the mail! Ssssshhhh! Don’t tell her! 😀 😉

The embossing is done with copper embossing powder (ret. SU!) … and then I have added some soft watercoloured ink to each of the images. I actually pulled out my markers & a saucer … and “painted” some of the marker colour onto a saucer and picked up the colour with my aqua painter. This is a good hint for watercolouring if you don’t have a stamp pad to “squeeze” the ink onto the lid.

Yes! That is a watermark on my pics that you can see! Finally, I have found a program to do this … although not entirely satisfactory … as I can’t place the watermark exactly where I want it. And … I can’t seem to get it any bigger … But … it is ok! I have been wanting to do this for ages … and it has been one of those things on the “to do” list that I just hadn’t got around to! (Thanks Debbie for the help!) You will still see a few pics coming through without the watermark … ones that I have already uploaded and not published yet! But … eventually I will have them all marked! Hhhhmmmm …. aren’t I getting a bit too professional! LOL! Never!!! 😉

Have a happy day! Stampin’ Hugs xxx

Another All a Flutter!

Hello girls …

Well … it has been a few days … so I can’t wait any longer … here is another of the cards created with “All a Flutter”. This one was actually CASE-d from a swap I received at Convention. (My fav!) It was designed by Lynda Winfield … who (as far as I can work out) doesn’t seem to have a blog! But … I am happy to provide a link, Lynda … if you happen to pop by and recognise your card!

The butterflies are white embossed on vellum … and the phrase is also white embossed to make it stand out a little better on top of the white inked background. Quite effective … don’t you think? The photo doesn’t pick it up very well … but the two strips of white are actually covered in Dazzling Diamonds. I used sticky strip along each edge of the white card … and sprinkled the DD onto the strip … pressed it onto the sticky … and tapped off the excess. It looks really really pretty! I love the Kraft (Crumb Cake) version that Lynda did but I also love the contrast of the white and Rich Razzleberry.

Tomorrow I will share one of my STAMPnGIGGLE projects … we are doing 3 small sweet special fold cards. It is a “FREE STAMP” type of class … with the templates & backgrounds all ready to go … you just have to do the stamping (design your own) and embellishing … and put them together! It will be fun!
