Happiness is stamping with friends!

Avery Elle Storybook

Hi bloggies!

I have a sweet one to share with you today. I needed both a boy and a girl baby card so I made 3 – including a lemon for my stash to sell.

I have to acknowledge Sarah Gray (via Pinterest) for the inspiration for this card … although, my version is a little fussier than Sarah’s sweetie. Sometimes I do have a tendency to overdo a simple concept!

It is a beautiful sunshiny spring day and the two littlest granddaughters have had some lovely play time together outside today. It is such a treat to have time with them each week.

Happy Bee Day

Hi bloggies!

Today’s card was a sweet project for my gorgeous little Peyton (grand-daughter) who turned 2 in June. She brings so much joy and sunshine to our lives!

I had some fun with some sponged ink stencilling with this one. I created my own stencil with some circle dies … to look like bubbles. And … of course … more COPIC colouring! I love my copics! I also added a sweet little shaker element … using a heart die for the shape. Sweetness plus! 😉😀

  • Tiddly Inks – Happy Bee Day
  • Copic markers.

Hope your day is full of joy.

Christmas time

I have just about finished my Christmas cards for this year. It did help that I had done a heap of COPIC colouring while we were on holidays at Dolphin Point in October.

I was actually going to add this embossed tree to one of my coloured images but realised it was too fussy and that it could be a stand alone card. In the end I was happy with the decision. The dry embossing is done on vellum card and has been coloured on the back side using gold Wink of Stella and on the front side using clear Wink of Stella. It is pretty hard to see … but it has a lovely shimmer.

And … as promised … here are some photos from Sandy’s yr 12 formal.

See you again soon! Hugs xx

Sandy’s graduation day

Hi blog friends!

Has it really been over a month??? Really??? Life is just far too busy! Since the two girls have gone back to work after babies … and I have been minding kids across 3 days (not full days … 1 full day, 1 half day & before and after school on another) … I am finding blogging has been almost impossible! I am sorry! But … I will stop with the excuses and share a card ………… You may have seen this on instagram … but I finally got around to blogging it! 😀

I do have plenty of cards to share … even though regular card making has come to a halt recently. But … a couple of stamping days have helped replenish my dwindling card stash.

I hope you stopped for a moment to click on these photos … you will see each one enlarged and better detail of the colouring etc. I just L-O-V-E my Stamping Bella stamps … and am always happy with the result when I use them. Still on my “L” (learner) plates for colouring with Copics … but I am gradually getting there! I did heaps of colouring for some Christmas cards on a recent holiday week away with Sandy while he studied for his exams.

Sandy’s Yr 12 Graduation Ceremony – Sept 2016

Illawarra Christian School – Tongarra Campus (small country school)

Yes … my baby has his final school exam tomorrow (chemistry) … and his schooling days will be over. It is bitter sweet for me. 26 years of being a school mum coming to an end. I am proud of all that all 5 kids have achieved and the lovely adults they have grown into. But … I am sad that a HUGE stage of my life is now over. Done! What am I going to do with myself??? (grin)

Take care everyone! Hugs xxx

Birthday Blooms two ways

Birthday Blooms SU May16 (6)

Hi blog friends!

I am a little taken with the new-ish “Birthday Blooms” stamp set in the recent SU! catty. It is a super versatile little stamp set with a gorgeous flower that I have played with quite a bit lately! I actually think I bought this by mistake … but have definitely had fun with it.

So … I have done 2 identical cards using 2 different techniques.

Birthday Blooms SU May16 (1)

One is coloured with Copic markers and the other is done using watercolour paints.

Birthday Blooms SU May16 (2)

The Copic sample is stamped with black momento ink and finished with some pretty Clear Wink of Stella glitter.

Birthday Blooms SU May16 (7)

For the second card … the image is stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder onto SU! shimmer white cardstock. I made sure the card was quite wet to allow the paint to flow into each section of the flower. I also did a bit of a wash around the flower. I have added some Wink of Stella to this one too.

Birthday Blooms SU May16 (3)

Now … I was kinda desperate to play along with a challenge. It has been probably close to 2 years since I have done one. (It would be interesting to check back and see!) I do know that this is a bit of a stretch … but I thought the vellum scallop circlet sort of followed the latest Just Add Ink challenge wreath element???? A bit subjective … but I thought I would enter it for a little fun, anyway … cos that is what challenges are about — a bit of fun!! 😀

So … I think my favourite of the two is the soft, feminine watercoloured card … but the Copic card is also quite eye-catching and pretty too!

Birthday Blooms SU May16 (11)

Hope you are having a great day. Poor Shane is having a bit of drama today after ‘spraining’ his ankle at soccer just over a week ago. It seems now that the original X-rays were ‘crap’ … and what was diagnosed at the hospital as a sprain seems now to be a couple of fractures, bone fragments and a possible dislocation requiring surgery. He has been at the hospital (the one where he works this time) for most of the afternoon and evening today. Let’s hope he gets a proper diagnosis this time and the proper treatment, too! Hugs xxx

Added 12 Jul: Well … I did check back … and I have done 2 random challenges this year … but apart from those 2 I haven’t done any since October 2014. It has been a while since I have done regular challenges … that’s for sure! 😀

Blossoms Window

Blossoms Window (1)

Hi bloggies!

Well … I hope you all had a safe and happy Easter Break! We had a reasonably quiet one this year after a few hectic ones over the last few years.

SSI - 2016-03-25 Sandy PKFCYth vs AP Rd1 (5)

Sandy (that’s him in the air!) won his 1st round soccer match at the higher grade and managed to score 2 goals. It was a little nerve-racking now that he is playing with the Youth Grade (U21s) at only 17 (nearly 18) but he seemed to fit in ok. Did I tell you he has also been offered a 1st grade (open) contract … which he will ease into as the year progresses? He is pretty excited about it all. My biggest challenge is to keep him focussed on his HSC (Yr 12 certificate).

So … today I am sharing a card Leonie found on Pinterest … and we had fun creating it together at a stamping weekend we had last year at her home. I still haven’t purchased this sweet pansy punch … but I do have the Birthday Blossoms set … so perhaps it has to go on my ‘wish list’? The original design was slightly different … not a tri-fold card … but a great place to start for inspiration. I think I should have stamped the  blossoms on the front of the card in Crumb Cake (stamped off perhaps?) rather than the Blushing Bride … but … am happy with the result, anyway! Hope your week is going well … we had 3 lots of not so great news this week. I am thankful that I know that God has it all in his hands and will work it all out! Hopefully next week will be better. 🙂  Hugs xx

Hello! Time for some news!

Hello my patient friends! It has been awhile … again!!! I am not going to make excuses … but I know you will understand if I say in the last month there has been a baby, a house move, school holidays, a week recovering from bad flu and all that goes in between! But … I am finally here with some news! Thanks, Kim, for asking …. here are the details …

We are thrilled to have a new little baby grand daughter, Peyton Emma! She was born on 20th June after a very long difficult labour and emergency c-section. Poor Sheree did it tough! But … after a few little hiccups … both Sheree and Peyton are home and doing so well! Peyton is a little treasure … very settled and feeding well. Sheree is still very tired … but is coping so well considering she was off her heart medication during pregnancy and again now while she is breast feeding. She and Murray are enjoying this new stage of their lives and are settling well. Here are a few little snaps I thought you might like to see.

On the same day as Peyton was born … we were all busy helping Stacey, Jono, Bree & Seth move into their new home. It was a little bizarre to have Sheree wandering around while we were busy unpacking boxes. Usually labour is a pretty private thing … but at one point there were 18 people in the new house! Poor Ree! But … she took it all in her stride! She wanted to be where the action was! Once she was off to the hospital … she had many more hours with just Murray there to support her … so she appreciated the company and distraction while she had it! We are so excited to see Jono & Stace settled in their new home. It is wonderful for them to have more space and more storage after living in such a tiny unit for so long! Life will be much easier for them! The kids were so excited to have a brand new set of double bunks … and have been sleeping much better since their move!

Well … the school holidays are nearly over and Sandy will be back at school next Monday. I am so sorry for my absence. To be totally honest … the main reason I am not blogging is MY COMPUTER!!! It is driving me beyond insanity every time I use it. It is just so slow, it hangs all the time, the internet crashes, flash drive is corrupted etc etc etc! I am soooo over it. My answer … I just don’t turn it on! I will go for days without touching it! Yes … I need a new one … and it is on my wish list at the moment but with Gav’s job still a little tenuous I am insisting we don’t spend the money on a new one! Hopefully, things will be looking up soon. I manage most things on my iPad … but I find blogging pretty tedious on it. I also don’t have access to my photo files that are on my computer when I blog on my iPad. One day it will be easier.

Well … I will close now … it has only taken over 3 hours to get this post done! (With a little time out for dinner in between!) Yes … it is a chore … but I do miss you all! I am home alone tonight … so I will try and post another with the card I made for little miss Peyton! Hope you are all doing ok!?

Hugs xxx

Andrea Gold Black HeartPS: Well … it is just not happening tonight! (When does it ever lately???) I can’t get the photos to upload (45 mins of trying) … so I will have to try again tomorrow or the next day … or the next day!!! 😉  Sorry! xxx

Musical Interlude!

Tongarra Country Fair 2014Hi bloggies!

I am just popping by to add a couple of photos from our school fair on Saturday. Those of you who have been with me for some time will know that Skye is the musical one in our family. She has even had a lead role in a local theatre company musical as well as performing regularly at school and church events. I was totally surprised recently to find out that Sandy can actually sing too! He was talked into performing (nagged) in the school talent quest by his music teacher and did really well for his first ever public performance. His teacher convinced him to perform at our Country Fair last Saturday … and he did two songs with his music class band. He played guitar and sang lead vocals. Well … to say I was surprised at his talent was an understatement! Of course … he is not experienced or as ‘polished’ as a performer as Skye … but it was a proud mum moment, just the same!

We also were thrilled that Skye was asked to return to her old school and do a 1/2 hour set on stage at the fair. She asked Sandy to accompany her on guitar … and also one of Sandy’s classmates, Eden to play her violin. WOW! It was a fantastic combination and Skye performed beautifully! For the first time we managed to get some video footage of her … including one song that she wrote herself! It was so nice to sit in the sunshine and listen to the musical performances! Both kids will be so embarrassed … but I can’t help sharing a couple of photos with my blog friends! Thanks for humouring me! Hugs xxx
