Happiness is stamping with friends!

Another Christmas Treat!

Hi bloggies!

Here I am again with a STUNNING Christmas card to share with you all! I really can’t take credit for this beauty … it is another of Tami’s gorgeous designs!

Isn’t this so sparkly and pretty! Such a WOW! card! And … quite easy to make! Embossing is not nearly as scary as some think! I decided to make a second card … this time in blue!

I have added the details for this embossing technique on my card recipe. HINT: Make sure your Versamark stamp pad is nice and sticky with plenty of ink.  Don’t forget you can click the recipe to enlarge … then print it out if you like! 😀

Again … I am sorry for the photo quality! Before my computer crashed I had Windows Live Photo Gallery … but now only the basic Windows Photo Gallery. I like the WLPG better because you can fix the “shadows”. So … I am in the process of downloading the better software. But … you all know how good I am with computers (NOT) … so fingers crossed it will work ok!

Hope you are all have a great weekend! Bye for now … Hugs xx

Medallion Birthday Card

Hello my friends …

I need to get back to prepping for my next STAMPnGIGGLE … but … I thought I would share another card first! I soooo loved this card when I saw it on Lee Pelosi’s blog … and although I tweaked the design a little … I still prefer Lee’s original. Lee’s seems to “pop” more and her flower accent is stunning. But … this is a lovely elegant design … don’t you think??? And … the colour combo is very pretty.

I inked the medallion stamp using the Soft Suede stamp pad … and then sponged some Choc Chip ink around the edges to get the two tone image. There are 3 Vintage Vogue flowers layered together here. I have “worked” the card to separate the petals into 2 layers, as well. This gives a little more fullness to the flower accent.

So … off to get some jobs done! I am sooooo loving not having the school commitments at the moment! Just makes life a little more relaxed. Have a great day! Stampin’ Hugs xxaxx

Curtain Call Challenge ACT39

Hello again!

I managed to do another challenge card … a couple of days ago … and thought I better post it … before the deadline passes! (I have a habit of missing the deadlines! 😀 ) This is a colour challenge from Stacey’s Stamping Stage and I instantly LOVED this colour combo. (Probably because green is my favourite colour … go figure!)

This was also for a special friend’s birthday! I hope I haven’t spoilt the surprise! (again!) The medallion is actually a combination of the Certainly Celery & the Wild Wasabi ink. I inked up the rubber with Certainly Celery and very lightly stamped this off onto scrap paper … leaving a little ink on the stamp. Then I added some Wild Wasabi randomly over the stamp using a sponge! Isn’t it a lovely effect! The “Fresh Cuts” leaves were also a combination of the two greens … and a combination of “stamped off” & direct to card stamping to give different depths of colour! Pity the pic doesn’t show the contrast a little better. I have another “to do” list for today … so better get moving! Stamp club tonight … we are doing two techniques … “Kissing” & “3D Stamping”! I will show you those sometime next week! Have a happy day! Stampin’ Hugs xxx

All A Flutter – CASE!

Hi again!

I don’t know why it has taken me so long to get around to showing you this card! I did tell you that I had one more butterfly card to show you … so … here it is!

This was a fabulous CASE idea from SCS –  Devlinwhite … who said that they had found this original idea on Dawn McVey’s blog! (I did a search on Dawn’s blog … but couldn’t find the original! I am happy to add a link if someone can find it!)

Added Sun 11th July: Ooooh! Looky!!! Fi found the original for me!!! Here is the link to Dawn’s sample … Ruffles.

Don’t you just love that ruffled border!? 😀 You can see that both the medallion and the En Francais background are not inked properly! This IS deliberate! The ink was sponged onto the rubber … to give an uneven stamped image! Isn’t that effective! I’m sure … even though this is the last of my run of “All a Flutter” cards … that you will be seeing MORE!!! 😀  Hope you are enjoying the school holidays … and are finding some time to stamp!  Stampin’ Hugs xx

Mambo Medallion

Hello again!

I have lotsa packs to cut today for Twilight Stamp Club Friday night … and for STAMPnGIGGLE on Saturday … so this is gonna be quick! 😀

Sorry about the shadows … I tried photographing outside … guess that wasn’t such a great idea! 🙄 Yes! I am in love with this Medallion Stamp … and it has reminded me how useful the background stamps are. I must get my other delicious background stamps out more! But … this medallion can be used as a feature as well as a background. It is sooooo versatile! I have a feeling I saw this design somewhere … but didn’t write it down! 😉 Love this Melon Mambo! Need to experiment with some colour combos, though!

Well … hi ho … hi ho … it’s off to work I go … C ya soon! Stampin’ Hugs xxx

Medallion Sympathy

Hello again!

It has been a lovely weekend … but PHEW … I am glad to stop for a few minutes!!! I can’t do so for long, though … as … yep! you guessed it … NEWSLETTER DAY today!!! Rachel and I have been discussing how it took a little convincing for both of us to buy this medallion stamp set! But … I started seeing some gorgeous designs around using this stamp … and just had to cave in and get one for myself. It is a FAB background stamp … but .. also creates a lovely focus image, too! I was going to do this card for my Convention Swaps … but it was a little time consuming lining up the images … so I decided to do something else. Will show you that one after Convention! 😉  The pic here is a “sneak peek” of my actual Convention Swap!!! 😀

So … it was TOTALLY flukey … but my first attempt at lining up the reverse image (just by “eye”) actually worked – almost perfectly!!! I knew that would be hard to repeat though, without actually lining things up properly with my S-A-M-J. But …using the trusty SAMJ would ensure that you can also get this FAB result! There are 4 layers on this card … each a reverse colour image. (ie. white ink on black cardstock … then black ink on white cardstock!) The scallop circle punched black medallion & hand cut flower were both mounted with dimensionals to pop them up a little. The white strip is snailed directly to the black card base. I was really pleased with the result and it is much more striking IRL! 😀

Another Clean & Simple sketch! Just can’t go wrong with these great layout ideas!

Gotta go get that newsletter done! Still chasing my tail … have to get the prep done for my Stamp Club & Saturday Class … so busy busy busy!!! 😀 See you tomorrow. (I hope!) Stampin’ Hugs xxx

Vintage Vogue Thoughts

I am quite pleased with myself! 😀 I only have 5 pages to go to finish mum & dad’s album!!! And … I still have 10 days to go!!! Admittedly … if I had a bit more time … the pages would be a bit more professional … and a little more impressive. But … overall I am quite happy with what I have done considering how little time I have had. I know mum will love it! So … I thought I would take some time out … to give you a card! 🙂

I’ve gotta say … I LOVE this card!!! I know … I might need to buy a bigger hat … (to fit the big head!!!) 😉 😀 🙄 You know how sometimes a card just comes together perfectly and you feel really thrilled with the final result. Doesn’t happen all that often to me … but this time it did!!! I really really love this new in-colour Soft Suede … and I am really excited that it is going to become one of SU!’s new core colours. I am definitely buying that re-inker now!!! All the images (except the phrase) on this card are embossed with white embossing powder … so it has an extra glossy / glamourous feel to it!

This is my entry for the latest “Stamping 411” Sketch challenge. It was a yummy one!!! 😀  Anyway … off to do some more scrapping. And … I also need to design my Convention Swaps! We are having a play day at Leonie’s on Saturday to do our swaps … so I had better have something in mind so I can pack up some suitable stuff to take with me! Ronnie is home (and doing well) … and Leonie figures she can still keep an eye on him … while we do our stamping! It just will mean he can’t run out and get our yummy fish and chips for lunch for us! Our “cabana boy” will have to behave himself this time! 😉
