Happiness is stamping with friends!

The most wonderful time of the year!

Hi again friends!

Time for another Christmas card … I still have quite a few to share!

This is one of the images that I pre-coloured with my COPICS. When it came to finishing these cards … it was a little tricky wondering what to do with them. Then I found this new sentiment stamp I had recently bought … problem solved!

The snowflakes are die cut from white card stock and then the colour was sponged onto them. An easy option for matching colours!

  • Verve – Holiday Greeting

How are your Christmas cards going? I was finished even before the end of November. It was such a help to have done all the COPIC colouring during our October holiday. Hugs xxx

2014 Christmas Cards … no. 8

Christmas 2014Hi there bloggies!

How are your preparations for Christmas going? Thankfully, I managed to get most of my Christmas shopping done before our holiday. Sheree & I spent the whole day shopping recently and it was one of those “on a roll” days! Everything seemed so easy. We had ideas … we found them! Or something jumped out at us … when we were stuck for ideas! I think between us we probably bought about 35 presents in 1 day! I am hoping to get my Christmas cards written while I am away … and then when we get home I will just need to organise food, buy a couple of pressies, buy a Christmas tree & decorate the house … plan for 3X family Christmases HERE! Nope … not really on top of things … but I do have a good head start! 🙂

Verve Holiday Greetings Sep14 (4)Today’s Christmas card is one of my favourites of my creations this year! Actually … I do have MANY favourites!!! I hope that doesn’t sound big-headed??? 😯

Verve Holiday Greetings Sep14 (1)Verve Holiday Greetings Sep14 (3)I have used a pretty wreath from the Verve stamp set “Holiday Greetings” … stamped with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. I have coloured the image using pastel Prismacolour Pencils. I have also used a white chalk pencil to do the stitching around the edge and smudged some white craft ink over the top card for the “chalkboard” effect. The sentiment is also stamped & embossed. I finished it off with a pink gingham ribbon to give it a bit of a ‘cottage craft look’. The sentiment is also from Verve … part of the “Bright Spirits” stamp set. I have added some Dazzling Details to the berries. Card Inspiration: Michelle Sielman (via pinterest) Michelle’s wreath was actually done with die cut snowflakes … must try that sometime! So … mine is a little different to the original. See you all again soon! Hugs xxx

2014 Christmas Cards … no. 1 & 2

Christmas 2014Hi bloggies!

I am so excited to share some of the creations I have made for Christmas this year! I have scaled back the number of cards that I send over the last couple of years. I have also found it much quicker to make 4 of each design. Much more efficient use of time … at the time of year when time is so precious! Yep! I never seem to get on top of my Christmas cards early enough! 🙂 Here is the SECOND ……

Xmas 2014 3 (3)I know in Australia we don’t have a white Christmas … but for some reason we still love to do Winter scenes and use a lot of snowflakes in our Christmas designs.

Xmas 2014 3 (1)Xmas 2014 3 (4)This creation was super Q&E … but the effect is so pretty! The snowflakes are die cut from Vellum … I used sponge daubers to add the circles of soft colour … a little bit of bling (see below) to finish off! Easy! The sentiment is from a gorgeous Verve set called “Holiday Greetings”. Card Inspiration: Laura Bassen (a fav of mine!)

My first Christmas Card for 2014!

Holiday Greetings (3)Hi bloggies!

I was playing around with my blendies recently and pulled out a random Christmas stamp set to try them out. I was pretty chuffed with the final result. This is my first Christmas card for 2014 Christmas. I had better get my butt into gear … 1 down … only about 50 more to go!!! 😉

Holiday Greetings (1)Holiday Greetings (4)This set is from Verve and is called “Holiday Greetings”! The sentiment is a Stampin’ Up! oldie but goodie … sorry … I can’t find which set it is from but it fitted nicely in the bottom corner! The snowflakes were in my stash … punched from silver glimmer paper. I was pleased with the blendies … but must admit that I wish the lightest colour of the three was a little lighter. I guess it is just a matter of getting used to them.

Phew! It has been a hectic week. (I know … I should write “an” hectic … but who is going to correct me?) I have been to Toowoomba (Q’ld) since I was last here. We spent 4 days with my sister and it was ‘go go go’. We had a lovely time celebrating Louise’s 50th, my mum’s 75th and helping out at my nephew’s fiance’s bridal shower as well as celebrating my niece’s 15th birthday. We packed a lot into 4 days … and I must admit I came home pretty tired.

While I was away, Sandy managed to break his hand in a soccer match at school on Friday. It was a teacher VS student challenge. Long story short … he thought he had just dislocated his finger and “popped it back in” — goodness knows what he actually did do in popping it back in!!???? Move the bone back??? It is quite a nasty break and he has a back slab plaster on until Monday when we visit the fracture clinic again to find out if it will be a further 4 weeks or so in plaster or whether it needs pinning. You can see a photo of my poor baby on my Facebook page … if you are interested! So … I spent the several hours between the medical centre & hospital emergency on my first day back (Monday). Thankfully mum & Ree were here to help with the grandkids.

I thought I would also share a couple of random cards I have made recently! Click on first photo to view better detail as a slideshow!  I have such a back log in my files … I need to get posting more often! Sigh … If only time would allow! 😀 Hope you are all having a great day!
