Hello Bloggies!

Hello Bloggies … here I am! 🙂

Thank you Thank you Thank you … for your patience! I am so grateful to have so many wonderful blog friends … and I have appreciated all the love and care you have shown over the last few weeks. We were very blessed on Monday to have a sunshiny day … even if a little coolish. The service was very low key and humble … and it was overwhelming to have so many come to pay their respects … and to support the family. We had about 80 people here for the refreshments afterwards … and mum sat and enjoyed their company … catching up with some long time friends that she had not seen for many years. My girls were a huge support in replenishing food and serving teas & coffees. They are such a blessing to me! It was sad … but it was okay. I managed a few tears … but Gav was surprised how well I held it together all day. I think you just keep going … don’t you? Yesterday … my two sisters and I went to the grave to lay some flowers … and spend a little time there. It is a beautiful spot under the trees. And … then my mum & I took my younger sister & her hubby & daughter to the airport so they could return to Q’ld. (Her other 3 kids had flown back Monday afternoon.) This photo was taken about 3 weeks ago … when Dad met his great grand-daughter Bree … for the first time. Look at that lovely smile. Parkinsons patients lose the ability to smile … but somehow Bree managed to get one from Dad!

Anyway … after a drive of 3 hours to the airport and back yesterday … I have decided to have a day of just doing absolutely nothing … today! The last few days have been sooo full on … that I think I deserve to sit with my puter on my lap … and be a tiny bit self indulgent! 😉 It is really cold today … so I am happy to sit here all snuggly and warm! I have been dying to see you all … and I am keen to pop by my favourite blogs for a visit … after being absent for so long. I have a small window of being still … before Mum has her hip operation on Monday 20th … and I am back to the hospital runs again!!! 🙄

I plan to do another post today … with a card creation … but I wanted to share some more blog friend creations first. So … keep watching for more later! 😀 And … I am also off to do some well overdue blog hopping.

It has been just wonderful to find these gorgeous creations in my mail box! (And … the lovely cards in my previous post) Thanks everyone! And … looking at these has made my fingers so itchy for stamping! I just need to find some mojo amongst the overwhelming tiredness … but … I will be back at my stamping desk again soon!!! 🙂 Hugs xxaxx

    Andrea,
It is so nice to see that you got a photo of your Dad with Bree – he looks very happy!
I am happy that you were able to get through Monday. It is so true, that sometimes you are able to pull through things…. it’s the little things that will remind you of your Dad that will pull at your heartstrings. You are allowed to stop and cry and I hope that you do, as you’ll be remembering such beautiful times.
Rest up now, as you prepare for the next round of hospital trips for your mum.
    Cheers
    Sonia
Andrea adds: Thanks Sonia … all these sweet messages are such a strength to me. Hugs xxaxx
