A childhood memory!

Hi there bloggies!

The Answer? …. A BOOK!

I had so much fun with today’s card! I was really excited when I saw the latest CAS-ual Friday challenge! CFC18:  Create a Clean And Simple project inspired by a book, and use the colors black, white and red. One of my favourite childhood books was called “Tom’s Midnight Garden” written in 1958 by Philippa Pearce … (not to be confused with “The Secret Garden”). I couldn’t remember the name of the book … but I did remember that it was a story of friendship between a boy & a girl … and there was a “garden” and a boy called “Tom” … so off I went on a “google search”! (Google Queen in action!!!) And … I found exactly what I was looking for — a review that brought back all the wonderful memories of this childhood favourite!  You can read about it HERE … if you are interested. So … in keeping with the title of the book … my card is a “moonlight” (midnight) one with a garden! And … I have included “Friends” as a phrase to signify the friendship in the story. I hope you like it!

So … I also deliberately added some ribbon flourishes to this card … so I could also enter it in the new Stampin’ Up! ONLY challenge this week.SUO 27: Ribbons & Bows.

And … here is a close up of my ribbon treatment … All the little loops and ends are added separately. It was a little fiddly … but well worth the effort! Oh … and before I go … look who came to visit today!!! And … I even got to mind her while her mum went to the gym. Did I go to the gym??? Why on earth would I go to the gym when I had this little treasure to play with???

See you all again soon! Hugs xxaxx

Seeing cards like this make me realise how MUCH work I need to do on my brayering (dah as my post suggested…LOL) and sponging. I have something wonderful to aspire to!!
