Just Add Ink #43 – Just Add Christmas

Hello everyone!

Sorry I didn’t get here at all on the weekend. We were out reasonably early on Saturday morning for the 60th party … and on Saturday afternoon Stace & Jono came over & stayed to watch Australia get beaten in the Rugby League! 😦 Sunday was a busy day with church (incl basket lunch) / afternoon at my sis catching up with some friends who were here from Wangaratta … then back to church to see a presentation about some mission work in Kenya. So … the weekend just disappeared before I knew it! I think we should have 3 day weekends … what do you think??? 😉

This week’s challenge at Just Add Ink is “Just Add Christmas”. I was in the middle of making this set for a friend … so I thought I might post it here to enter into the challenge. Click on the JAI pic to view all the gorgeous creations from the DT and the other entries. I am popping back when I finish this post to bookmark some to CASE. I soooo need some ideas to finish off my Christmas Cards!

Yes … I know! More white embossing. I just love the crisp clean “snowy” look that this creates. The little chocolate cone is a great way to add some “yummies” to the christmas tree! Simply fill with choccies and hang on a branch of the tree. You could even add a name to the tag so that everyone can search for theirs on the tree! Here is the card … pretty self-explanatory, I think! 😀

I have added a card recipe with full instructions at the bottom of the post. Please let me know if you need any help with this! Gotta fly! I am determined to get an early start on the newsletter today! We (Skye, Grandy, Aunty Kathy & I) are off to Miranda (Sydney) early tomorrow to do a little Chrissy shopping but also to get Skye a bag & some jewellery for her Yr 12 graduation dinner which is on this Friday … so I need to make sure I have the newsletter done early! xxaxx

  1. Some beautiful examples here, Andrea. I love the rolled scallop circle to make a cone. Will have to store that one in my very long to-do list.
Andrea adds: LOL! I posted this on JAI at 9.07am (for some reason my wordpress clock is on 8.07) … and within 2 minutes I get your lovely comment! Wow!!! That WAS quick!!! Thanks for the feedback, Bronwyn! Hugs xxaxx

    Yet again – BEAUTIFUL!
A lovely spin on the Christmas feel – without being red & green. So elegant.

Enjoy shopping tomorrow … both the shopping part & the time with family part!

    Thanks for sharing.

Andrea adds: Thanks Gabbi! It is nice to have these outings occasionally! It will be lovely to have lunch out … and finally get organised for Skye’s grad dinner! Dress & Shoes organised ages ago … but just the final touches needed! 😀 xxaxx

So, so incredibly gorgeous. I love this Andrea, a perfect Christmas card, lovely colours and layout. This is such a perfect card to make heaps of, you’ve given me some great ideas here. Mum has just bought that set and is getting the punch, I can feel a bit of borrowing and caseing coming on. Love the cone of chocolates and the box too. So, so beautiful…it all looks amazing.
Hope you have a great day. Have an awesome day tomorrow out shopping, sounds like so much fun.

Woo Hoo…..after 3 atempts I FINALLY get to comment!!!! Ok it is early Tues AM, but I am here!!! Do you realise how hard you make it for some to resist the temptation of certain items??? This time being the envelope and scallop circle die?? The box and cone are DEVINE and the set is such a great gift idea!! Clean and crisp are the 1st words that came to mind when I saw this……and then the 3rd “C” word…..calories!!!! The dry embossing really pops the box and cone. I am in love witht he ornaments and have used them HEAPS on my cards. The wee Baja bows are the perfect finish. Simply beautiful…..DEFINITELY Andrea!!! ooxx
Andrea adds: I think it is probably good for me to stick with “definitely Andrea” … perhaps I am trying to hard to do what others do … and that is why my mojo has gone missing! LOL! Yep! I think that is the prob! 😀 That was such a helpful thing to say … thanks Lynda! I soooo love that ornament set … even though I was really not convinced to start with! I definitely need to see what my friends are using before I choose my stamp sets! Cos I always like what they choose more than what I choose! Giggle! Hugs xxaxx

Andrea adds: Feeling very sad at the moment … about missing regionals. Sometimes we just have to say “stop!” But … I hope all you girls have a great time. (Not toooo great … cos I expect you would be missing me!!!) giggle! 😀 😉 Thanks for the lovely comments! I think “crisp” is the word for this project! Hugs xxaxx
