25 Days of Christmas – Card #22

Christmas is the keeping-place for memories of our childhood innocence.

Hello again!

I am such a dumbspud! It was my sis (Christine) & hubby’s 25th wedding anniversary YESTERDAY … and their card (made last week) is still sitting on my desk … cos I mixed her date up with my other sis … and decided there was no rush yesterday to get that to her … cos it was TODAY!!!!! DUH!!!! 🙄 Where is my brain! Christine’s is the 21st Dec … Louise’s is the 22nd Sept. How could I get that so wrong??? So … big apologies, Chrissie! I am so cranky with myself. 😦 I will make sure Ree drops your card into your house today! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY FOR YESTERDAY! Congrats on a wonderful milestone! 😀 😀 😀 Oh … and  for those who are interested … I will show you this card … once our “25 Days of Christmas” is all over! I like it!!! 😀

So … today’s card is one based on an old Clean & Simple sketch layout #76. And … this was another sketch that we played at Leonie’s “Faux Incentive” trip at “Pepps Resort“. I think this might be the last project I have to share from the fun friendship weekend. I can’t wait until our next one! 😀 Here is today’s card …

You can see the scrummy “Christmas Cocoa” DSP again on this one. Just a touch … but this DSP is so “rustic” and gorgeous! I am so glad I have plenty left to use again next Christmas! 😀 I used the “Soft Holly” wheel stamp in place of the ribbon on the sketch. And … added some gorgeous blingy sparkle! (Dazzling Diamonds!) 😀 Such an easy layout … particularly if you have some square punches! No measuring needed!

Our wonderful son Shane paid for us all to go out for dinner last night! How special! It is so nice that he is finally earning a regular income … and has such a generous spirit! 😀 Dinner out … one of my fav things to do! So … on the agenda today??? Better  get that card to Christine … and … I’m not really sure apart from that! 😀 I do have stamping withdrawals. 😀 Perhaps I can slip in a birthday card today? I still have cassatas  to make … perhaps I will do that today! 😀  How lovely … at this busy time of the year to be so organised that I can have a bit of a relax before the “onslaught!”

Have a nice day, everyone! Hugs xxaxx

You are so funny!! I will look forward to my card! I will admit that because you are always so organised with these things, I did check my mail box yesterday – 3 times!!!! hehe I guess it doesn’t help that our anniversary is so close to Christmas!! 🙂
This card is lovely. I did a similar thing with the four squares for the anniv card I made Ian – if you want to check out my blog!
Andrea adds: I know! That is the really annoying thing! I am usually organised. Especially … because I like to remember it … cos it tends to get swallowed up by Christmas! Did you do anything special yesterday? Or was the cruise in October the big celebration? Hugs xxaxx

The cruise was the big celebration! However, Carrie cooked dinner for us – including a lovely dessert!
Andrea adds: How nice for you! Don’t we have great kids! Hugs xxaxx

This is another pretty card – the the red accents beautifully with the Early Expresso! And I can see some bling too – how pretty!
Have a lovely day preparing for Christmas. I have just made a batch of your Christmas Fudge recipe. I haven’t tasted it yet, but licking the bowl was pretty special!! I might need to talk you into sharing your Cassata recipe if it is as easy as the gorgeous Fudge!
Thanks for sharing (…cards, recipes and more!!!!!).

P.S – Happy Anniversary to Christine for yesterday & … Shane sounds like a lovely young man to shout dinner! How special!
Andrea adds: LOL! Did I share my fudge recipe??? I must have done that last year??? Just had a look … and here it is for anyone else who is keen to try it out! Andrea’s Christmas Fudge Recipe!
Oooh! I will email you my Cassata recipe … it is the one that I shared for the recipe exchange (that I sent you!) 😀 Aren’t I generous! And … yes … Shane is a sweetie … (most of the time!) 😉 Hugs xxaxx

I just LOVE the holly wheel that you have used on this card and the reindeer a couple of days ago. I have that wheel and it has never seen ink but I need to drag it out because you have really showcased how gorgeous it can be!

You actually say you have moments to relax??!!! You put together these incredible ideas and tutorials, you cook amazing things and you have TIME TO RELAX??!!! You HAVE to share organizational tips!
Andrea adds: LOL! My secret this year … I got the bulk of my Christmas gift shopping done in October! Yes! Sheree & I went up to Sydney (1 1/2hr drive) … on the first Monday of the October holidays … and bought 27 presents in 4 1/2 hours! (A few b’day presents in there too!) We were on a roll! 😀 The whole wider family list was done … so I only had my kids to buy for after that! This definitely helped with being organised … I really think it made a HUGE difference! 😀 Hugs xxaxx
