21st Celebrations!

Hello my friends!

I have 3 nieces who celebrate their 21st birthdays in the next month! How exciting for them all. Today is the first of the three … my sweet niece Tahnee! Happy Birthday Tahnee! I spent some time recently creating all 3 21st cards … and did a bit of a theme with them. They are all different … yet similar. You will get to see them all as the birthdays happen! (I can’t spoil the surprise!) 😀 Here is Tahnee’s card …

This is a Sugar Nellie image … but I am not sure of the image name. It was a gift … and I took the packaging off and forgot to note the name. Isn’t it the sweetest. I have coloured the image with my SU! markers (pre-prismas) … and added some of my new best friend – Iridescent Ice Embossing! It does add such a pretty sparkle! 😀

I wanted to share a little tip for using the Silver (or Red) glimmer paper. I hate to have “wastage” … so when I use the GP as a border … I always cut out the centre … to use for another project.

I use my cutter to cut inside the card @ 2cm from each edge & then remove the inner piece to use on another project
You may want to cut a little further (maybe 2.5cm) if you are intending on doing a punched edge on the image card. But ... this one worked fine with just a 2cm cut.

Tech Tip!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The hole is hidden by the image section of the card … so no one notices it … and then I can make better use of this precious card piece for punched labels or embellies.  Well … bookwork day … so I had better stop procrastinating! I hope you are looking forward to seeing the other 21st cards??? Hugs xxx

Hey girl! VERY sweet card. I totally love that ribbon and the cute image. Have to say, I also love your new blog design. Makes me smile.

I read you comment about the card that Hailey’s boyfriend gave her. She LOVED it! Funny story….a while ago, I gave her a bunch of blank cards for her to hang onto and give out. One of the cards I gave her had that same Sarah Kay image and THAT happened to be the card she gave Nate this year for Valentine’s Day. So without planning it, they BOTH gave each other cards with the same image. Talk about them being on the same wave length, right? LOL!
Andrea adds: I did smile reading your comment! How could they not choose the same card … it is an adorable and sweet image and you always do such an amazing job with your cards! How gorgeous! Thanks for popping by, Denise! Hugs xxx

Gee Andrea I am so happy to learn someone else can’t tolerate paper waste. All my suppliers are 89 miles from my house or ordered from the web. Thanks for the tip–. Can’t wait to see the other 2 21st birthday cards.
    Hugs and smiles, Reva
Andrea adds: I am a little more ruthless with my normal card stock … (although still careful) … but this glimmer paper needs to be hoarded!!! 😀 I can’t waste a bit! Thanks for popping by to say hi! Hugs xxx

    Hello Andrea
Just looking at your latest card – the first of your nieces’ 21st Birthday cards. I have used Versamark, the Iridescent Ice emboss powder and heat tool to create a sparkly image or word but would like to know how I would go about filling in and creating something like the sparkly dress on your card? Your card is really lovely and I look forward to seeing the other two. Also, I loved your tips.

Andrea adds: Oh Lyn! Thanks for reminding me … I didn’t add it to the card recipe (sorry!) … but I used a Versamark pen to colour in the dress and then added the IIEP … and heat set. It is sooooo easy … and means you can add the II to any part of the image that you choose! Thanks for visiting and taking the time to leave some blog love! Hugs xxx

This is soooo pretty Andrea! Love the sparkle & all the white with the soft colours. Tahnee will be rapt with it. (I am sure your other two nieces are looking forward to the pretty creations you have made for them too.) Great techie tip – it would be a shame to have hidden all that beautiful sparkly paper when it could be shown off on another card! BTW I think the stamp might be a Gorjuss Girl? Hugs 🙂
Andrea adds: Thanks Helen … I usually record the name of the stamp when I store it … but for some reason missed this one! I think it might have been from some blog candy??? Thanks for noticing all the little deets! Hugs xxx
